I just want to say that Lily (from ST: First Contact) is one of my favorite side characters. She's amazing. The character and the actress.

“You broke your little ships” | “Star Trek: First Contact” (1996)
OK so right off the top yes this is probably my favorite scene for delivery out of all of the films but there's a lot going on here for those of you that might not have seen the series/shows. Worf is easily one of the most honorable in bravest men in the entire series series that can be known as Star Trek. The amount of things that he has overcome both as a Starfleet officer and as Klingon is absolutely insane if you really look back and think about it and Picard has been you could say almost a father figure all along the way. has personally saved Picard's life numerous times and I think Picard has saved a couple of occasions but for a few things here I wanted to go over. when Beverly is shocked/reacts to Picard's comment you know it's serious. This whole scene that you just watched starts with one of the best moments in the movie. You have all of this history between these two characters and the fact that Worf is a Klingon who above all else value honor courage et et. . . Yeah Picard F-ed up and he F-ed up big time. It's one of the few times that happens...pretty big deal for a character that has how many hours of character growth I appearances over how many different shows?! It's literally more disrespectful than just a simple slap with a glove across the face I remember seeing this in theaters I'll admit I hung out with a bunch of nerds but when Star Trek movie came out back then it was a big event. When that scene played out half of the audience literally gasped. Worf is right - you've lost! It's time to pack up and go home and live to fight another day. I could joke and say that this is yet another moment where nobody listens to Worf when they should which is kind of a running joke in the show - but look at the situation. They have literally lost control of will say about 75% of the ship. Their phasers are no modulation no longer viable / working they're literally running out of bodies to put up against the Borg as they move about the ship conquering one section of the ship at a time. Worf missing his Baldric (I've always figured it was lost during hand to hand combat but you could also argue due to the increased temperature of the ship from the Borg that it was very hot lol), clearly exhausted along with the crew of the Enterprise. Worf was never on the Enterprise before this he is in command of the defiant on Deep Space 9 but of course had to make his appearance in the movie but what a way to enter in command of the starship Defiant - Ben Sisco's Mother Fing Pimp Hand . . . .and he's been so bad ass that the bridge lighting is Fed, and he's asking for ramming speed! So from the get go Worf has had a pretty $hitty day. Anyway if you look back at the shows run I really don't think we've ever seen Worf basically admit it's over. I mean this is the guy that literally fought a Jem-Hedar to death and would not yield - this guy would fight with no fingers to the death in a round of Halo if one of his family was on the line - when even HE says its time to go, YOU GO. He's right - it IS personal for Picard. I absolutely love Jerry Goldsmith and he is definitely my favorite composer as a cinema enthusiast/soundtrack enthusiast. I love that he pauses the music a little bit while the insult is given and then slowly goes into what arguably described as the music also acknowledging how poignant and downright sad this moment is for these two characters. Coming to blows is one thing but this hits a little deeper if you know the background and makes their making up at the end especially Picard's choice of words more humbling. It's the most you're gonna get from the Picard admitting he was wrong and what he said and his sincerely sorry etc. etc. Picard lashing out in anger when speaking in the observation room is easily one of the finest moments of Star Trek. Again you need to know the history but his experience with the Borg up until then what he has personally technically done and is responsible for you this is a man that is fed up with their BS and is now not going to stop until he is dead or has gotten rid of this menace.
