So I just powered my pc off by holding the power button down and now it won’t turn back on. WTF it’s like a month old.
If mine sits over a full weekend I have to unplug it and plug it back in to boot up. Maybe try that? My R11 is about 2 months old
So I also have an R11 that I have power issues with. Is there a button on the back, on your power supply? I have to hold that and then press/hold the front button to get it to turn on. I tried to reach out to Support but it is Dell. So I will just park that there. I can get mine going-- just odd I have to press 2 buttons on opposite ends of the gear.
Previously functioning R11 won't power. No recent physical changes, location change, or trauma. No lights or power when front power button is pressed. BIST turns on the lights and fans (both mainboard and GPU).
Removed all external devices. Moved power connection to a different, known-good electrical cable and outlet directly. Discharged all power by holding the power button. Verified motherboard connections are solid. Still no power.
When I remove the power cord for ~30 seconds, plug it back in and hold the front power button, the LED lights flash briefly once after about 10-15 seconds, but the PC still doesn't turn on. Seems to indicate to me that the power button is working and the issue might be hardware-related, perhaps with the mainboard; however, the positive BIST test makes it confusing. Any ideas or tips would be most appreciated.

After trying to turn on my pc it doesn’t turn on but it does emits one yellow blinking light every 5 seconds. My power supply is getting power because the green light lights up when I press the button on the back. I researched the diagnostic codes and according to the website it means “bios and rom failure”. I took it to the shop and they had it up and running immediately. My computer was working fine after that for a few days and then it started messing up again by not Turning on and blinking one yellow light again. I haven’t took it back to the shop because I managed to get it back up and running a few times on my own, But do anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this issue ? Idk what’s causing this is happen. And what does bios and rom failure means?
Everytime I press the power button, it turns off a few seconds later, I just replaced the power cord, but it didn't do anything. Please help.
My Alienware Aurora R11 was working earlier today, I left it to download a few games and then came back to my pc turn on and off after short time.
I notice the Alienware button is yellow and is flashing a few times. I’ve unplugged for 2 hours and replugged the pc again and it instantly turn on and then turned off, turned on again with yellow flashing and off (repeatedly)
I unplugged the power and pressed the little button in the back to release the energy (I saw an article on Dell website) and then plugged the power back in. I pressed the Alienware button and unfortunately no results.
My warranty just expired last week and this is happening for first time, can someone please help me fix this issue?
This has happened before and I’ve already gotten it repaired but it’s happening again and doing a cmos reset didn’t fix the problem.
When I turn on my pc the blue light on the front turns on like normal but nothing else gets powered. The screen doesn’t turn on and I can tell that the keyboard isn’t getting powered as pushing the caps lock does nothing.
When I turn off the pc it flashes an amber light 1 time and it immediately powers off as I press the button.
Does anyone know what the problem to this is? Is it the coin battery being faulty or did dell replace my old motherboard with another faulty one?
My cpu was spiking to 100 degrees Celsius when playing games which was odd, so I decided to try and repaste. Once I did that I tried plugging it back in, but now it turns on for a few seconds then gives me 3 yellow blinking lights on the power button and shuts off. I checked the diagnostic lights on the Alienware website and it says 3 blinking lights system board or chipset error.
Do I have to replace the CPU or motherboard? Also, My warranty finished. Has anyone else experienced this?

It is possible when you unplugged the cooler, you plugged the pump in the fan control and fan control into the pump. I personally did the same thing on my r10 because the plugs are questionably labeled. Also it is possible the cpu pump has failed and is not circulating fluid. You can feel the tubes to see if they are warm when the cpu spikes to 100c. The 2 blinks then 1 blink is incredibly common and can be caused by seemingly anything . My r10 functions A1, but has been blinking since day one. Turning on then quickly over heating to the point it shuts off is a sign of no cooler flow.
PC is about 5 years old. I just put the GPU back in after using it in a different PC for a while and now the thing won't turn on.
I think it is a power supply issue because of the no green light test but I'm not sure.
Would like some help.
