You can run a hardware diagnostic test from BIOS which will result in error code to help guide you in the correct direction. Call Dell and give them the code so that they can order the necessary parts. Having the code in advance will save you unnecessary wasted time having them try to help you run the tests. Just now, my Alienware R13 suddenly started flashing yellow two times on the Alien head followed by the usual white. I can still use the computer, but now my Alienware Command Center won't detect FX or something -- so I can't change my keyboard or anything. I've searched this one up and it says something about a memory error or something -- obviously I'm not computer literate at all. I've tried to reboot it but that has achieved nothing.
Getting angered by this. Haven't even used this for a month and it's already acting up on me. What should I do here? I have no knowledge in taking this apart -- as I've bought this thing so I wouldn't have to do that.

Start by reading the manual available on https://dell.com/support - it'll tell you what the flash codes are. Alternatively, just call Support and ask them. You say you bought it so you wouldn't have to work on it yourself, so make use of the warranty to get Support to tell you the answer :)

March 7, 2022 - Got my first Alienware laptop about a month 1/2 ago. Today I see this consistently blinking yellow light. No idea what the issue is, and my computer won't charge past 99% to full.

Hi, I had the same issue today. Everything was working fine except for the front LEDs and the alien head logo on the front was flashing 2x amber 1x white. But absolutely everything else seemed to be working just fine. I shut it down turning power completely off. I waited a few minutes and unplugged power supply from the wall. I waited about 10 minutes and plugged back in, started up again and it completely cleared the issue. I have no idea what caused this to happen in the first place.

Motherboard is not a standard form factor, so a standard ATX board will not fit in the case. The case wiring itself is not standard ATX either. To replace the board with an aftermarket ATX board will require a new case. If you have the original memory, put it in and disconnect all other devices including USB devices and do a CMOS reset by removing the coin cell battery. It's not uncommon for aftermarket memory to act up, even if they have been working fine for months before. If that does not work and a BIOS recovery option does not work either, than a motherboard replacement will be your only choice.

Thank you for the reply, and yes I am aware that I will need to change the case and PSU, most of the testing I did with the original memory and the only USB devices that where plugged in where mouse,keyboard and the thumb drive when it didn't work without it (just pressing CTRL+ESC). Didn't try doing the reset without the battery so I'll try that this evening when I get home.

I just recently got an Aurora R10 and set it up yesterday. Today I started it up and it ran fine for about half an hour then it shut off. Now it will not turn back on and is showing 2 blinks of a yellow light, then a pause, then another 2 blinks. I looked it up online and it says that light code means there is no ram detected. I have opened it up and checked out the memory cards and they are installed correctly so I’m not sure what the issue is. Anyone have an idea?

Here we have an Alienware 13R3 i5 1050 2GB (Such powerhouse. Very perform.) Works perfectly fine (apart from the occasional total system shut off on battery power when launching in to certain games), it's just that the laptop's power button never stops blinking in the rapid amber "battery is critically low" style, even when plugged in and fully charged. (While charging, the blinking stops and is replaced by the standard charging "animation". I've run diagnostics on both batteries (98% health reported on main), and have subsequently replaced the coin cell battery to try and fix the issue to no effect. It holds a charge and reports back as having 4 hours 43 mins on Battery Saver so the main seems to be okay. Question is: why is the power light in permanent critical-low battery freakout mode? I've already tried the "unplug battery hold power button" thing to no results beyond a need to re-date/time the BIOS. Any ideas on the cause and any possible fixes? Got this laptop second hand so I don't think Dell can do anything for me.

Congratulations on your much power machine. Have you gone into AWCC to change the lighting theme settings? Sounds like what is going on here is previous owner configured it that way.

Just curious... download hwmonitor (you can Google it) and see if the battery health is reported differently in the utility vs. what Dell's BIOS is saying. From full charge, when you unplug... how long do you get before system powers off? What power AC adapter are you using? ie volts/amps/watts

Your computer has a corrupted BIOS that’s you need to go to dells website find the latest bios version and download it to a usb drive once you have that drive insert it into one of the usb ports on your computer since your computer is not getting past bios you will need to press and hold both control and escape at the same time while turning on the computer that should get you into a screen with multiple options press f12 that will get you into the bios flash scree which should give you any prompts that it needs

Try to re-seat all your ram sticks. If that doesn’t work, try booting up with only one ram stick in.

I am not sure but I think it was 3,1 which would be cmos. But if I switch ram slots fro. 2/4 to 1/3 I get no blinking lights so I could be wrong on the color. I was using g skill ripjawsv 3600mhz. I have the original ram as well and put that back in but I can't get anything to come on the screen. Last time this happened I changed the frequency ram to the wrong on in bios and did a cmos reset and worked fine. For some reason when I tried shutting down I got a grey screen so idk what happened.
