I'm using Alienware R13 on Windows 10. I was just browsing youtube and suddenly my laptop had blue screen. It happened a few times already but after troubleshooting no issues were found. How old is your Aurora R13? "boot failure on device" means that BIOS was not able to find an operating system to load into. Your harddisk could have failed, and BIOS cannot access it, and therefore it didn't find any operating system to load. More on reddit.com

How old is your Aurora R13? "boot failure on device" means that BIOS was not able to find an operating system to load into. Your harddisk could have failed, and BIOS cannot access it, and therefore it didn't find any operating system to load.

Boot to the F12 1-time boot menu, select diagnostics. Run the diags on the HDD and see if it is detected. If you get an error like 2000-0142 or 2000-0155 you will need a new drive.

April 12, 2020 - you need to install Win 10 in the SATA SSD in UEFI mode and not legacy mode. if you do that a proper "Windows boot manager" will show up in BIOS as the first boot device.

Hi @Michaelspacejam thank you for sharing update. Everything but the BIOS has been tested, but ePSA Diagnostics is not available when it should be. Perhaps the BIOS install has been corrupted, and thereby Boot into the Windows operating system is not possible. Pease try How to Recover the BIOS on a Dell Computer or Tablet | Dell US. Hi @Michaelspacejam welcome to this user to user discussion forum. This is not Dell Support. Please remove all external connections except for the ac adapter, and perform a hard reset. When your 17 R5 splash screen appears, POST must have completed with no diagnostic lights or beeps, and the video screen works. Press and hold down F12 to enter boot menu fails, but does press and hold down F2 allow the BIOS menu to open? Does the ac adapter diagnostic light remain on when plugged into laptop, and does the battery charge? Do the LED lights work, especially during POST? After the third attempt to boot into Windows 10 has failed, the Windows Recovery Environment menu should automatically appear. When trying to Repair Windows, do not delete your files. Hi,
I just got my Alienware x17 R2 laptop yesterday.
Today, when I turned it on for the first time, I got this error:
“ No bootable devices were found! Possible causes could be a corrupt OS image or a boot device is not enabled in BIOS setup.” and I only had this option to shut down the device. The next time I turned it on I got this error " Boot failure on device".
I have not changed any boot mode configuration. The UEFI option is on "Windows boot manager" by default.
I think they have not installed any windows on this Laptop in factory.
I would be thankful if anyone here can guide me what is the problem and what should I do now?

Call dell support there check the if there's an hardware issue . But in short I'd you have a spare USB 8gb above . Got to microsoft website and download windows 10 or 11 . Put tge flash drive in and will install .. But for a new machine call support incase the idiots didnt even instal a drive lol ..

Hi @truedavid the easy option is to swap-in a new M.2 NVMe OS(C:) boot drive to get the 15 R3 working again. Then the 15 R3 can be used to diagnose why your hidden drives are not being recognised. The Crucial System Advisor Tool says Alienware-15-R3 will accept an ultrafast read/write 1TB or 2TB M.2 2280 PCIe Gen3 x4 NVMe card. Your existing OS(C:) boot drive cannot be cloned because it is damaged. Ask a colleague if you can clone their OS(C:) boot drive using Macrium Reflect Free, or get a M.2 NVMe card with the Windows 10 x64 operating system preinstalled (eBay, Amazon, etc.). Thank you very much for the guidance. I followed your instruction to reseat the HDD, and then BIOS can detect all HDD now. I also run ePSA Diagnostic and everything is perfect, all HDD are detected with thermals as well. But the drive partition is still showing MBR while the system is set to UEFI , I also restore the BIOS to default (UEFI / Secure Boot on / Legacy Option ROMs off), but still 'Boot failure on device'. I also press F12 to boot the system with 'Windows Boot Manager' option, but the screen shows 'Selected boot device failed'. I guess the only option I didn't try is to use ' USB drive with recovery media'.
