Thanks for your reply! Last night I decided to unplug the ac adapters (Area 51 has two of them) and let the battery die. I can’t say for sure what exactly happened but an hour or two later in desperation I tried holding the power button down for two minutes straight… I had done this before several times… still no effect… but then about one minute after I had stopped holding the power button down it shut down on its own. Not sure what did it… maybe finally ran out of battery? I plugged it back in and booted again and it took me to a screen with the Alienware logo at the top saying 'battery has been disable' (yes it actually did say 'disable' instead of 'disabled') and then something about the battery being overheated. From this portal I was able to run a system scan and it found no problems. I restarted again this time tapping F2 and confirmed that battery and ac adapter were functioning properly… then rebooted and it came up with a screen saying it was finishing windows update… after that it booted normally and seems fully functional. Not sure exactly what fixed it but my best guess is battery finally died… I hope this helps someone who might finds themselves in the same situation.  JD Answer from Johnny Dixon on dell.com

Hi @Johnny Dixon , I got you so its no problem. I had the same issue when my dads AREA 51M was doing a BIOS Update and he closed the lid during it and that must've corrupted something because it wasn't turning off. I spent 2 hours diagnosing and fixing it to come out with the solution: unscrew all the screws attaching the laptops bottom panel where the fan is and use a suction cup to pull it out gently. Then even though the laptop IS on still unplug the battery connector from the motherboard. DONT REMOVE THE BATTERY, just unplug it. Then the laptop should shut off and then you need to hold the power button for 30 seconds. Then hold CTRL+ ESC while your plugging the battery back in and the laptop should boot!

m17 R3, within a few hours my AWCC stopped working | DELL Technologies
August 25, 2020 - I received my m17 R3 today and it was all going great (for the first hour!). But then I plugged my matching AW610M mouse in and it then advised me that I needed to reinstall the AWCC (Alienware Command Center). I thought this was a bit odd but assumed it knew what it was doing. After this I just got this big ball of spinning balls and it just hangs there. A notification pops up saying "Service Running Required - the AWCC is loading please wait 30 seconds.

I recently ordered an Alienware 17 R5 (my first alienware, too! I’m super excited) along with a backpack for it and a nice keyboard and mouse from Dell. The keyboard, mouse, and backpack are all actually arriving today via UPS (they were shipped a day or two ago) and the laptop says it’ll be here 5/31 (over a month from now!). Just curious if anyone here has experience with these wait times and if they are accurate or if there’s a chance it will arrive early? Any help is appreciated, friends!

r/Alienware on Reddit: Alienware Delivery Times
December 18, 2020 -

Hi, I ordered a new r11 spec in November and I've had an estimated Dispatch Date of 8th Dec... however, since placing the order on 21st Nov, I've had no updates and the account order tracker has not changed at all....

So, is this normal for Alienware orders, or should I expect a massive delay update tomorrow (especially as new orders on the Aurora order page indicate 28 days before shipping...)

Was really hoping for delivery before Xmas :(

UPDATE: Well, it's now the 9th and my status ship date still shows as the 8th :-/ It's been "In Production" ever since I placed the order on 21st Nov... Contacted support but no response yet.

UPDATE 2: Dell Customer Services got back to me and advised there is a parts shortage, but they will also chase the delivery company for an update... which is contrary to there being a parts shortage. Smh.

UPDATE 3: Email confirmation that my order has been delayed and it won't arrive until 19th January 2021 :-/

UPDATE 4: Just received an email today (18th Dec) with an invoice attached - when I checked the status of the order it's showing as Shipped! (No tracking or delivery date though, but fingers crossed this arrives in time for Xmas)

November 27, 2024 - First you'll have to reset the pc , then as soon as the pc opens after reset run and keep AWCC open then go to browser and download Reva uninstaller , let it run and then uninstall dell support assist , then close AWCC and open it again if it still says booting try again later then go to search bar and search for "services" , and in services look for "Dell Techhub" right click on it and click start then try starting AWCC again voila its fixed ... The revo uninstaller worked, but I had to use the repair option from the awcc package to fix it. Thanks, bro. ... Welcome to the unofficial community for Alienware. We are not an official Dell sub. Just got the new a15 and It says in production for the last like 3 days, and the estimated delivery is 3/25 even with next day air. Could it come sooner and why does it take so long to build a laptop? I'd be content with a "built and being ready to ship" for a couple days. doesn't matter regardless just a little impatient because it took like 10 tries to purchase because it wouldn't go through for some odd reason, so I'm just excited to get it.

r/Alienware on Reddit: The wait is killing me/new computer yay~
December 15, 2018 -

So I finally decided to bite the bullet and get a new gaming pc, my previous system:

Alienware Area 51 R2, 16 gb ddr3 memory @1600 mhz, Radeon R9 270 (2gb gddr5), 1 tb (7200rpm sata 6gb/s), 4th gen i7-4790 processor, Fan cooled (runs at 86 degrees playing skyrim and 52 in idle even after being cleaned of dust) (purchased in Nov of 2014)

My new system:

Alienware Aurora R8, 16 gb ddr4 memory @2666 mhz dual channel, GeForce RTX 2070 oc, 2tb 7200 rpm sata with the 128gb m.2 sata ssd (boot) combo (dual drives) , 9th gen i7-9700 processor (8 core, 8 thread), liquid cooled with 850watt power supply

I am super excited but the wait is killing me (currently set to arrive next Friday, ordered on the 21st of Nov). The graphics card is a huge bump up for me and I'm looking forward to the bump up in FPS and no longer being resigned to low graphics settings in heavily modded skyrim or when playing Ark. I was originally deciding between the GTX 1080ti and the RTX 2070 oc and after reading reviews decided the RTX was both cheaper and comparable enough in performance as far as what I would see on a day to day basis to go for the rtx instead of the 1080ti and save the money, in the future if needed I could upgrade to a better card with the power supply and cooling I have without it being a major problem. Any opinions on the bump up in system/new specs?

Edit: Updated to include the boot ssd i'd forgot to include in the specs.

Update: as of 12/11/18 my computer is now due to arrive a day early this thursday according to the shipper.

Update 12/13/18 My computer has arrived, going to set it up when I get home :D

Update 12/15/18 Idle temps on system is 31-32 c on average, ultra settings in most games i've tested so far is hitting at 68c on average <3

r/Alienware on Reddit: Estimated Delivery Time
May 21, 2024 -

Hello all,

I am writing this post to ask if the estimated delivery dates dell gives you in an order confirmation are accurate. I ordered my PC yesterday, and the estimated delivery date is Jun 12, which seems kind of far away.

Is this estimated date accurate, or will my PC arrive after that, or even before that hopefully? I am just wondering what all of your different experiences have been with it, and I am wondering if I should get the keyboard, mouse, and headset I want now, or if I can wait awhile as my PC may take some time to be delivered anyways.

As always, thank you in advance for your replies. Have a good day.
