Can I recover files from an Alienware laptop that won't boot?
You might recover your data by using recovery media, another computer, or dedicated recovery software (such as MiniTool Power Data Recovery) before fixing Windows.
My Alienware power button is blinking amber and blue—what do the flashing codes mean?
2 Amber, 1 Blue: Motherboard failure.
2 Amber, 2 Blue: BIOS/ROM failure.
2 Amber, 3 Blue: No Memory (RAM) detected.
2 Amber, 4 Blue: Memory failure.
2 Amber, 7 Blue: LCD failure.
3 Amber, X Blue: Usually points to an Embedded Controller (EC) or Power Rail failure.
How long should the Dell logo screen remain visible?
This happened to me last year and I don’t know how to fix it. I sent it to a dell workshop far from where I live and they said there was nothing wrong with it. Please do comment down below quick cause this is also my work pc for college.
I have an Alienware Aurora R6 desktop running Windows 10 and a Dell S2721DGFA gaming monitor connected via DP.
I am not sure when this problem began but whenever booting up the PC or restarting Windows, I can not see the boot screen such as Alienware logo and the options to go to BIOS etc. It just shows a blank screen (monitor says going to standby) then the monitor displays the windows login screen. It seems like the monitor does not show anything but when Windows is running.
Can anyone help what is going on and how to fix? I have tried using a HDMI cable instead but the problem remains.
TIA.
Hello there,
My cousin has an older Alienware computer that would not boot to Windows. It would get stuck on the Windows logo screen with the spinning dots. I downloaded the windows 10 media creation tool on a USB and boot it to advance settings. I suspected a Windows 10 update was issue. I was able to do a system restore and it booted up just fine.
This computer is extremely slow, btw. I was looking in ways to increase the computer’s performance. I think some of the sluggishness is due to the age and the fact that it’s not using an SSD for the Hard drive.
The next day I went to work on it, back to the spinning circle. I tried to perform another system restore, try rolling back Windows updates which did not work. My last resort was going to reset the pc, but that option isn’t available anymore.
Any suggestions on what I should try next?
Did you do a diskscan on the drive? It could be possible the drive is failing.
