Hey all, today I factory reset my m17 laptop, let my little sister play on it and there were some viruses detected unfortunately so I just factory reset the system, ran malwarebytes after the reset and it’s clean now. One thing I noticed was the alienware update application never got downloaded ? It’s just missing completely. Some people don’t like the program but it was super useful to me to keep everything updated. Why didn’t it automatically download ? Can I download it online ? I can’t seem to find it anywhere.
I have a M17R5 and recently used the Alienware Update App for a system update. I don’t remember the specifics of the update. After restart, the Alienware Update App has disappeared.
I went to the Dell Website to try and reinstall, but when I try and get the driver, I get a message saying that the driver is not compatible with my system.
I tried to install an older version of the Alienware Update from and installer I still had on my computer. When I tried, I get the message, “A newer version of this software is already installed on your computer.” When I search, all I find is an folder with a txt doc installer log.
Can you guys help? Have you had this problem?
Thanks in advance!
Alienware M15 R4 - Over the last few days, I’ve had issues with Alienware Update and Support Assist.
I am now getting this error with Alienware Update:

Basically, it will not perform a scan. The only changes I’ve done were the Windows 11 March update a few days back and the upgrade to the 1.16.2 BIOS update. I have tried reverting it back to the 1.15 BIOS, but it still does the same thing.
Also, SupportAssist no longer works. When I try to run any of the options (driver update, hardware check, clean files, etc), it kicks back an error basically saying it can’t continue because another process is running. This has been going on longer than the Alienware Update issue, which only seemed to start today.
I have also fully uninstalled both programs using Revo Uninstaller Pro AND even deleted all leftover files. I have since re-installed Alienware Update and it still does it. I have not yet re-installed Support Assist. Figured if the Alienware Update wasn’t fixed, then neither would Support Assist. 🤷♂️
Alienware Update runs on my R13 Desktop just fine. So I know it’s not a server issue or anything…both systems are on V 4.8.0.
Thanks in advance for any help on this!
So i was looking on the Alienware website for the AWCC application to reinstall, but all the folders and links to it have been taken down. Does anyone know where i can get it?
My computer is a aurora R7.
No thrilled with my Alienware that is only 3 months old. Got a blue screen of death and after going through first level support they promised to have 2nd level support call me back which they never did (that was over 3 weeks ago.) I ended up taking it to a local shop and it appeared to be a loose cord. It still occasionally boots up into bios with random errors, but then when I restart it come back up normally.
Anyway, now my latest issue is the "My Alienware" won't update. When I try to open it, it says "update available to continue using My Alienware, please update the application. It's worth it." So I click on update, click yes on the popup screen asking if it can makes chances to my computer and it says "installing", and then it goes back to the "update available" screen.
This is the 4th alienware computer I've bought. I've never had problems with them before. but this latest one is a lemon and their "helpdesk" service is useless.
