Hi, Aliens.
Today my Alien X17 R2 are received bios update via Windows Update, and then when installation is started - update stuck on 10%, and nothing more for almost 2 hours.
What should I do?
I understand that if I hold power button and turn off laptop, it's died.
Maybe you have some more ideas? Or just turn off and search ways to restore bios? In which eay i can restore it on X17 R2?

You meant windows update stuck at 10%, and not actual bios update stuck after reboot right?
If yes, you'd be fine, even you turn off laptop via holding power button, because the actual bios update process hasn't been initiated yet as windows update is stuck.
If you turn off the laptop via power button then turn on it, ensure to update bios manually by yourself which is safest . Don't let windows update to do it automatically.
Or If you're saying that actual bios update started and stuck at 10% after reboot, dont turn it off. Leave it on and seek support from Dell Support regarding your situation.
Hi all,
Went apply update and shutdown earlier today and my x15 r2 has now been stuck at this screen for several hours? What's the best course of action here? Do I leave it? Do I power down and restart?
Hi, I'm Robinson, and I’m happy to help you today.
Windows 10, version 1903 reached the end of service on December 8, 2020, this is why you are having problems installing the update. You will need to use the Media Creation Tool to update Windows to the latest version 22H2.
1-Download the media creation tool.
https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691209
2-Run the tool and select 'Upgrade this pc now'
3-Select the option 'Keep all my files and apps'
4-Then click to update.
Thanks! I ran that setup. It goes through the steps including the Media Creation, then closes and nothing further happens.
I eventually found Update ASSISTANT doing the work. I am surprised it didn't open automatically.
The Update Assistant completed all of its tasks. The first restart got through 30% of the update. During the second restart, the system got to 48% then shut itself down. After restart, it again rolled everything back to the previous version.
The above suggestion didn't do any more than the normal Windows Update system. What else can I try?
I had a notification that a Windows Update was needed and so I scheduled it to install late last night(around 1am) and when I woke up this morning my monitor(which is a Vizio tv) is stuck on the "Please wait while we install a system update" screen. It has been this way since I woke up at 7am and possibly even longer considering when the update took place.
Windows said it was a Firmware update and usually they never do this or take that long. Most times updates are done by the time I wake up.
I did sort of restart my PC and it booted back up to an update screen that said it was 30% complete, did a restarting screen and now it's back to the please wait screen.
I'm genuinely afraid to touch it at this point...
UPDATE: Just jumping in to say that my updates are not automatic, I do have to approve them. I just saw this one and didn't think anything of it. Also, I dunno if it matters but I can definitely hear the fan on my PC running(it usually does this if it's loading something) so I dunno if that is an indicator of it doing anything or not.
UPDATE.2: I turned it off and back on again and got it to boot up. It went to the update progress screen went from 34% up to 100% and then windows started up as if nothing had happened. Everything seems to be going okay so far, but if anything changes I will update again.
My laptop forced an update as I was shutting it down for the day and now it’s stuck on a screen saying “Please wait while we install a system update”. The power button and any key functions are disabled. Is it best to let it die then restart? Or is there something more I can do to combat this. It’s the x17 model btw
It’s been stuck here for about an hour now
