Can I recover files from an Alienware laptop that won't boot?
You might recover your data by using recovery media, another computer, or dedicated recovery software (such as MiniTool Power Data Recovery) before fixing Windows.
My Alienware power button is blinking amber and blue—what do the flashing codes mean?

I’ve had the new r11 since December 24th. Today I was loading into Apex Legends when the screen just crashed. But I could still hear the sound just a little bit. I had to hard reset my pc, when I turned it back on the keyboard flickered then nothing came on besides the mouse and the pc lights. And the monitor just showed a black screen but the pc was still running. I power flushed the pc then turned it back on. Everything worked and I went into support assist and I had the BIOS 1.0.4 update. So I manually installed the update which worked fine. Got back into the pc and ran the full 45 minute pc scan. To eventually halfway through it the monitor showed a black screen with all the pc, mouse and keyboard lights still on. The pc only shows a screen 10% of the time. And when I does, right when I open any application (google, steam etc) it crashes and freezes. All of my accessories are Alienware devices. I also have premium pro support but everything just says the mother board or gpu is fried from running support assist. Need some help!
I just turned on my Alienware computer and the screen is black even after turning the monitor off and on. Also tried the draining the battery technique and that didn’t work. Any help would be appreciated
Hey everyone,
I have an Alienware M15 R4 with a 3080 and a i7 10870H. I’ve had it for almost 3 years, with no problems. However recently, whenever I turn it on on battery power, it boots up, works like normal for 15-30 seconds, then the screen goes black. It doesn’t turn off, I can still see the back light and I can still hear my videos or whatever going on. But When I plug into power there’s never an issue.
Anyone ever have a problem like this? It’s really annoying having to unpack the massive charger and plug it in everywhere I go with it.
I’ll try to keep this detailed.
Device is Alienware 17 R4 with a GTX 1070 graphic card.
It had this issue where the Alienware logo would show up on start up but it won’t go further. I would press the power button once and it would turn off/hibernate and then on pressing it again the login screen would show up. It was a workable situation.
I felt my Netflix desktop app had decreased FPS so I thought I should update drivers maybe. I got the GEForce Experience app and that started installing things and then when it restarted the laptop got stuck on the (post alienware logo) black screen. My method didn’t work and I booted the pc multiple times and got it to work a bit. Found out that the 1070 was disabled in device manager and the driver wouldn’t update or uninstall.
Then the thing stopped going past the alienware logo altogether.
I took it to the shop. The guy tried to restore the original windows but it would get stuck every time. So he installed a cracked version of windows and then it started working but it didn’t have any drivers.
Now I updated all the drivers. The initial issue where I had to power off and on to get the login screen started again. And now after I got the 1070 driver from nvidias website it stopped working altogether.
Nothing is working and I get stuck on the post alienware logo black screen.
Sorry if it was confusing or too long but I need help. There’s no official centre for alienware or dell here so can’t send it to them. Even the warranty is expired.
Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
I had the exact same symptom happen to my 17R4 after I unplugged it from it’s AC and the Graphics Amp. Got to my destination, powered it on, sat on the Alienware logo forever and then Black Screen. Reconnected it to AC and the GA once home and problem persisted.

First check and see if It’s registering inputs. I.E. is bum-lock working
-
If so check and see if you can get output to an external display
My Num lock worked but I did not get an external signal.
I chalked mine up to “Aliens”. I tried a clean install, didn’t work. It installed fine but as soon as Windows updated the graphic driver, boom...black screen. I didn’t try a cracked version but I did pull my SSD(as well as all my drives) and installed the original HDD which was still in factory condition since I immediately pulled and cloned that drive after unboxing. System booted fine. System updated fine. Did the latest Nvidia drivers to get the Amp back working just fine. Used it for a week without a hiccup. I re-cloned that drive back to the SSD and all has been well since. Can’t explain others than Aliens.....or Gremlins whichever you prefer.
Sounds like the boot drive can't get the is to connect. Maybe a hard drive issue
I try to turn on my Alienware aurora ryzen edition r14 and all that comes up is the Alienware loading screen. After that the monitor stops receiving signal from the PC. I am able to open the bios menu. What kind of problem is this?
