I bought this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B4DRJCBS?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 off of Amazon. It is able to charge my macbook just fine, but fails to charge my alienware. Is this expected? If so, I can't believe i paid $3k for this laptop...

The x15 is not designed to be charged from USB-C. It's designed to be charged using the 19V DC input with the supplied charger. It /will/ charge from USB-C, but it's going to take you a long time to do so as it's limited to, I believe, the 65W that the PD spec originally stated. It's important to do your research before assuming something will work...

I can't believe i paid $3k for this laptop... You bought a gaming laptop. A class of laptop that is notorious for being power-hungry. The power supply it ships with is 240 Watts. That's more than 5 times the energy your 45W power bank is capable of delivering. I'm presuming you are using that power bank with an M1 Macbook air which only needs 30W of power delivery. It's like whining about how much you paid for a Shelby GT500 with 760 horsepower because it burns gasoline 4 times faster than a Prius.

So I want to buy an extra power adapter for my x15 R1 so that I can put them in places I go to often and just carry the laptop, however I have searched and all I can find are Alienware bricks for $170-$200 which is just bonkers. Are there any other compatible Dell cables? I can’t imagine the port is original, I wouldn’t be surprised if Dell used the same port across different laptops. Is anyone aware of an affordable power cord for the x15 that isn’t going to cost me ridiculous piles of cash?
Edit: Thank you to everyone who commented! Confirmed exactly what I wanted to and I ended up purchasing a 230w adapter from Amazon. I believe it should work, and will update after. (Really appreciate this!)

If you want something portable and lightweight, I recommend this after market 330 watts power supply. It also have 2 usb c that will provide 100 watts to chrage your mobile device too. SlimQ F330. I do have it and I love it.

sure check eBay or amazon make sure its dell 230 watts min some say you can go lower if you not gaming so they where using dell adapters form normal lap tops which should be cheaper . I had a laptop question the power brick once but apparently that does not happen anymore? either way I run my x15r2 on a old power brick form a xps from years ago it does not care but I am pretty sure its a 330 watts.

Hi there, got a brand new X15R2. I have a Spigen GaN usbC charger and a Zendure Powerbank both capable of 100W charging. I was wondering which of the 2 ports I could use to power the X15 (or charge it ) : the left one, TB4.0 or the right one USB 3.2gen2.

Neither will charge at more than 65W, as far as we know. Both of them should be capable of doing the 65W charge though.

Make sure you have a USB cable with an e-mark chip in it. Normal USB cables have a 60W-65W limit. Old e-mark cables have 100W limit. Newer ones have a 240W limit.
