r/allthemods on Reddit: Ore processing in ATM7
September 13, 2022 -

I have like a lot of raw ores, 50.000 of iron for example, and like 1.500.000 cobble.

I know that is normal, and some people could say, if you have 1.000.000 of a raw material why do you need multiplying the ingots... Well because why not haha, and we are here because we like automatisation, so why not this?

Now my question is, what are the ways that we can use to process the ores and get a good multiplier?

I read that the limit is a x24 multiplier, but it's with the ore silktouched, and is not that easy to extract that way.

Also I know that the occultism crusher demon can get a x6 but Its too slow, could be a good chose for a "Im low on this, I can use it to get a bit more of each ore" but not in a high scale factory.

Maybe a create + mekanism + iron furnace would be the easiest and fastest? What do you think?

r/allthemods on Reddit: ATM 7 Ore processing help
July 19, 2022 -

I'm getting started in ATM 7 and trying to get some basic ore processing up and running. I'm running into the issue that the Enrichment Chamber only handles raw ore in Batches of 3. Is there a way to ensure that a pipe only moves a multiple of 3 into the machine so as to avoid the chamber clogging on 1-2 pieces?

What mods have Ore Processing and how much? | Feed The Beast
September 9, 2015 - Although RoC's extractor can go up to 13x if I remember correctly for certain ores, like nether redstone and nether lapis. Oh, and Mek is flat 5x, not counting all the reagents consumed (which can be derived from cobblestone and water). ... AE's grindstone is 90% chance if doubling by default, so maybe 1.8x And Ztones has 9x ore processing?

r/allthemods on Reddit: Ore Processing
January 1, 2022 -

I’ve read a lot of posts regarding using mods and enchants to make pickaxes that will smelt/fortune ores and gems for 7-8x them. Could someone explain this process in depth or point me to a video I could watch? I’ve never used the pedestals mod so I’m unfamiliar with that aspect and with the mods that let you get higher level enchants. Thanks in advance!

The anvil doesn't allow fortune and auto-smelt to be applied to the same item as I'm guessing you know. The Pedestals anvil is fun in that it doesn't care about that. https://imgur.com/a/QYMKmDa Here's a picture of my pedestals anvil and enchanting area. The anvil and everything needed for it (which is how you combine enchants and force enchants to places they shouldn't be able to go) are the ones dyed red, but we'll start with some basics on pedestals first. General Information Pedestal blocks exist pretty much only as a frame to house their upgrades, the upgrades are the 'machines' of the mod. -To apply an upgrade to a pedestal, hold the upgrade in your offhand and right click the pedestal you want to upgrade with an empty main hand. -To remove an upgrade, hold your upgrade tool in your offhand and left click the pedestal whose upgrade you want removed. Or just destroy the pedestal. Pedestal upgrades will retain any fluids/rf/xp they hold when you remove them or break them. -To link two pedestals to allow xp/items/rf to flow between them, hold the linking tool in your main and, then shift right click on the destination first, and the source second. You can invert this if you shift right click while looking at nothing, this will change it to a backwards linking tool that will link from source first to destination second. Crafting list to get started: Pedestals - These are super cheap, make a stack. They're the basis for the mod but don't do much on their own. Linking Tool - This allows us to configure and link pedestals upgrades to send items/exp/rf to each other. Upgrade Tool - This lets us view the status of our upgrades, what their contents are, and any other information needed for it. It also allows us to remove upgrades. and has other modes that I've never used for filtering/tagging. Exp Enchanter Upgrade - This allows us to enchant new items. It has a range of 1 higher vertically, but the same 5x5 horizontal range when looking for enchantment empowerers. You can see in the pic above that I'm using Natura Pylons from Botania to empower my enchanter, and suggest you do the same if/when you can. If you have more enchanting power (through bookshelves or pylons) than you have levels in the enchanter, the enchanter will not work. You can use the upgrade tool to determine how many levels of enchanting you can support, then add pylons/bookshelves to bring your enchanting power up to your max levels of enchanting without going over it. Exp Magnet Upgrade - This is one of the ways to get experience into the pedestals network. If there are exp orbs nearby it will suck them up. Additionally, if you stand by your magnet it will suck experience out of you and add it to the network. Exp Tank Upgrade - This simply holds experience and gives us a deeper reservoir to enchant and combine with. Exp Anvil Upgrade - The key of it all. The anvil upgrade needs to be applied to a pedestal surrounded by 4 other pedestals as you can see with the red pedestals in my setup above. You also need an inventory beneath the anvil for the items to apply enchantments to. In order to combine enchantments (turning two fortune 7 books into one fortune 8) one of these 4 pedestals needs to have a number of diamonds equal to the level of the new enchant which will be consumed. I have an item tank upgrade to store more diamonds, but that's optional. Hint- I have no idea what mod does it, but if you right click on a vanilla enchanting table with an empty bottle, you'll take a bit of damage and lose a bit of experience to create a bottle of enchanting that you can use to create some of these upgrades. Setup Everything is going to have to be pretty close as the range on pedestals isn't huge. You can upgrade this by adding range augments (I'll talk about augments later) but as long as your tank can reach both your enchanter and your anvil you'll be good. You'll want to link your Tank to your Magnet, and your anvil and enchanter to your tank, so exp will flow from your magnet, to your tank, to your anvil/enchanter. Operating To enchant something, place an inventory of some kind beneath your enchanter, and place the item you want to enchant inside. As long as your enchanter has enough experience too equal or exceed your enchanting power, the item will be enchanted and sucked up into the pedestal. To enchant an item with a book, place the book first in one of the pedestals around the anvil (one of the empty red ones in my setup above) then place the item you want to apply the book to in the inventory beneath the anvil. To combine enchantments (upgrading your fortune for example) ensure you have diamonds in place as mentioned above, then place one book on one of the outer pedestals, and then place a second identical book in the inventory beneath the anvil. Upgrading and focused books Upgrading your pedestal upgrades is mostly done by enchanting them. You'll notice that you won't be able to do very high level enchants to start, and you'll pretty quickly hit a limit on how high you can combine enchantments. This is because the capacity of your pedestal upgrades isn't great. You can either enchant your upgrades directly in the enchanter (This might mean making a second enchanter upgrade and a second anvil upgrade) or you can create 'focused book' items to get specific enchantments. Capacity is the most important for this setup, as that determines how many levels of experience your tank, enchanter, and anvil can hold, and therefore how high of an enchantment level you can create and combine. Important note, you'll have to create a focused book "Advanced Book" and enchant it at a power of 96 or greater in order for any pedestal enchantment past 'V' to apply any benefit. So if you have Capacity IX on an upgrade, without advance, it will still only count as 'V'. Augments Augments are applied the same way as upgrades (right click with the augment in your offhand), transfer capacity, range, speed, and muffling are pretty great anywhere. Transfer capacity in particular on your magnet and tank to run your anvil and enchanter faster. Range is nice to give you some more flexibility on how far away things are. Other Options/Misc Instead of using pedestal magnet to feed the thing with your own experience or finding a good source of orbs, you can use the "Fluid to XP Converter" to convert various fluids into experience, like essence from Industrial Foregoing, or Fluid XP from Mob Grinding Utilities, or even lava if you don't have any other source though the ratio on lava kinda sucks. You can use Cyclic's Disenchanter to split up any books you enchant. So if you enchant a pickaxe and get some level of fortune along with other enchants you don't want, you can run the pickaxe through the disenchanter to create seperate books for each enchantment for use in pedestals anvil. Already a long guide, so if you have any questions, let me know!

Apotheosis is a mod that changes the vanilla enchanting system. Allows for higher level of enchants such as fortune 7 and up. People are making unbreakable pickaxes with eternal Stella and using some for of enchanting IE botania to make them have fortune 7 and auto smelting. Then just putting them in item users with a block placer in front to place the raw ore either obtained from silk touch, void miner, or other methods then the item user breaks the ore with the pick granting the 7x gem fortune.

BA advanced ore processing :: Factorio Mods & Scenarios
December 12, 2023 - Originally posted by Leeux:The casting method that requires ore sorting is the path to progression, i.e. it's the only way you can make Bronze, for example, or get Silicon early, or make Steel (unless you are using an extra mod to unlock alternatives for making steel early.) Crushed ores into furnaces will serve you well at the start and even maybe can serve as a top up method, to reinforce the plates made via sorting, but the sooner you start delving into ore processing the easier it gets later to upgrade.
