Is it just “Ally”? “Ally Bank”? “Ally Financial”?

I’m getting a check mailed to pay off a car loan for a balance tranafer and i screwed it up last time and don’t want it to be wrong again.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this.

I sold a car to a reputable used car buyer near me. They sent the buyout amount to Ally through priority mail and I was given the tracking information. It arrived at the Ally payment processing center in 4/25 in the afternoon. As of today 4/29 they still do not have it as received. When I sent a message to Ally online they said it was not yet received, but can take 7-10 through the mail. In the message, there was no clarification on whether that meant 7-10 days to process or 7-10 days for the mail to reach them.

I called customer service, but the representative didn’t seem to fully understand what I was asking. He said that it usually takes them 1-3 days to reflect on the account after receiving the pay off amount. But was unable to tell me how long it takes for the pay off to show as “received” after being delivered.

If anyone has any experience with this please let me know. The car is in my name, but was being driven by my mother who passed away and it’s causing me a lot of anxiety.
