Both are fine. No matter what business you look into, you’re going to find people who aren’t happy and people who are happy with them. Accounts being locked is a possibility with any bank or credit union. Don’t raise red flags with the way you bank and you should have no issues. But, you shouldn’t put all of your eggs in one basket either. You should have access to money from more than one source bc accounts do sometimes get locked. The good thing is, you aren’t stuck with one bank for life. If unhappy with one switch to another. Pick whichever. It really doesn’t matter which you go with. More on reddit.com

No issues in 8ish years. It’s a good online bank, plain and simple. Great interest rates. Customer service is friendly if you need it. You’ll find horror stories of any bank if you look. More on reddit.com

September 17, 2023Been really unimpressed by Ally's customer service. Anyone else?
While I haven’t run into any rude reps, I feel like they’re not as well prepared to answer questions. I had some questions about adding my wife as a joint owner of one of my accounts, and it felt like the lady was pretty confused. That being said, it’s such a pain to change banks, and I’ve been fairly happy with the banking itself so I’ll probably be sticking around for a bit More on reddit.com

August 24, 2024WTF is going on with Ally’s customer service?!
File a complaint with consumerfinance.gov. This just happened to me last month. My password wasn't wrong bc I use pw manager on my Mac. I called and selected option to call me back but no one called. Then after annoying "failed login attempts" then "overdraft happens" emails, I submitted a complaint on day 3. On day 4 cf.gov responded that "ally said they are working the issue". Then on day 5, I was able to login with no problem. This isn't my primary bank nor do I plan to leave this bank either. This has been the only issue I've had with them. Good luck. More on reddit.com

My account was locked and I have called numerous times over the past month to resolve this , I am always told the fraud department would reach out and solve this but I havent received any calls. I am so devastated by this experience and disappointed in the customer service who dont say or do anything but hang up the phone on you. Very disappointed in Ally for not having competent hands on deck.
