It's impossible to contact Ally Bank to do a title copy and letter of guarantee request. I had a total loss on November 6. Since I had a car loan with Ally, I had to help the claims rep get through to an actual human by calling the Ally line and then LYING about an impound after TWO MONTHS of attempted contacts, meanwhile Ally was still drafting from my bank account for car payments when the insurer was ready to pay them off for two months.

So long story short, if you call 888-477-8459 and then option 0 and Option 1, ie call Ally and lie about your car being impounded, you will be in the Impounds department and THERE you will find a real meat human to exchange information.

I recently moved from Illinois to California and have been trying to get my title info sent to the California DMV. I have tried calling Ally numerous times but they simply don't want to give a straightforward answer and always tell me to get the DMV to contact them for it along with other information that is different each time I call.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? How did they get Ally to send the title to the DMV?

Is it just “Ally”? “Ally Bank”? “Ally Financial”?

I’m getting a check mailed to pay off a car loan for a balance tranafer and i screwed it up last time and don’t want it to be wrong again.

I'm pretty frustrated.. Ally Auto has not sent me my title. MONTHS after paying off the loan.

Has everyone else ran into this? I can't see the status of the title as it says the accounts closed. Can't seem to get through to someone on customer service. What the heck.

Is there anyone specific I can contact? Currently sitting on hold frustrated out of my mind. This has to be highly illegal
