12am = 00:00 = midnight 12:59 am = 00:59 1am =01:00 11:59am = 11:59 12pm = 12:00 = Midday 1pm = 13:00 2pm = 14:00 Etc, through to 11:59pm = 23:59 The change happens at 12:00 (12pm) and at 00:00 (12am). The am times are all the same as a standard 24 hour clock as is the hour between 12:00 and 12:59(but now called pm instead). Then anything from 13:00 onwards starts again at 1 with pm added. And then for 00:00 until 00:59 you use am again but 00:30 would be 12:30 am for example and then back to 1am, 2am etc at 01:00, 02:00 Honestly, it's a bit stupid anyway using them imo, I totally understand the confusion, if in doubt stick with the 24 hour clock
