I currently work for campus mail, so I'm the person that actually talks to the delivery people and scan the tracking numbers that says we receive the packages. First, the address you put on amazon should be "9450 Gilman Dr. La Jolla, CA, 92092" Second, after the Gilman Dr. put your apartment number, this can be found on your housing portal, and it can also be found on your quicky link that you used to move in. To go more into detail, this apartment number is a 5 digit number and is shared among your roommates. This is how mail services differ each apartment room. An example mailing address, "9450 Gilman Dr. 88562 La Jolla, CA, 92092" Or you can put the apartment number first, "88562 9450 Gilman Dr. La Jolla, CA, 92092" Either works, the package will arrive to the same area. Also if you do not put the apartment number and just leave it as "9450 Gilman Dr. La Jolla, CA, 92092" this is also acceptable as part of our job is to look students up. If we receive a package with this address but no apartment number, we will simply look the student up in the system and add the apartment number for them. Someone commented that you can get it delivered to the amazon lockers which is true, or if you live in a building such as Sixth, New Living and Learning Community, we will actually deliver the packages to the mail center in those buildings. Update I do not use a VPN. It seems resolved as the unknown address hasn’t reappeared on my account for the past few days. I’ll continue to check. I contacted CS several times; they had me going in a loop, each time ending the chat with saying a “specialty team” will contact me in 48 hours but they never did. Eventually, last chat with an agent just told me that he checked with the specialty team and it won’t happen again. And it hasn’t happened again since. Odd and unexpected but a resolution nevertheless. I gave up trying to find out why or who kept adding the address, as there was no history of orders associated with the address, according to CS. Going through the same thing. Amazon continues to deliver to the wrong address, so I upped the ante, and purchased more and more expensive items, which continues to be left at the wrong address. Refund Rinse Repeat If Amazon doesn't get it right, then the Distribution Centers will have to answer for all the refunded goods. My guess is some rogue with bad intentions got into your Amazon account and changed the address. If the same thing had happened to me, I’d sign out of my Amazon account everywhere, change my Amazon password, and enable two-factor authentication. I’d also change the password on my email account that’s associated with my Amazon account and enable two-factor for that. More on reddit.com
