Like the title says this is the 1st statement with the Amex Amazon and I didn't realize until now how much of a pain it is to actually get the "cash back". I only had 2 purchases totaling about $540... So 5% CB is $27. But with Amex you can only use the cash back points towards purchases for less than your point balance with a $10 minimum... So since I have $27 in cash back but a charge for $415 and $125 I can't use my cashback. Anyway that's my rant guess I've been spoiled by the ease of Chase Amazon and didn't realize how tricky Amex would be. Not sure if I should just sock drawer this card or transfer the limit to another card and close it.
I was buying some Christmas gifts and I happened to see in my list of Amazon payment methods an American Express card. It has my name and an expiration date of 11/29. To my knowledge I do NOT have any Amex card, I had one in the past a VERY long time ago. I am worried this might be related to some kind of identity theft activity. How can I find out if this is some kind of an error vs there is an AMEX card account out there somewhere with my name?
