As I sit here reflecting on my recent experience, I can't help but feel a sense of despair and frustration. I want to warn others of the dangers of doing business with Roman Cresto and his cousin Johnny Cresto, who scammed me! I was excited to purchase one of their Automation services but my excitement was short-lived. The store was run for several months and ran into a suspension. Empire Ecomm didn’t attempt to fix the suspension, and had gone silent, leaving me feeling helpless. Later I found out that another company was in the process of purchasing Empire Ecomm. Both Johnny and Roman made grandiose promises that they would continue operating my store and those of other Empire Ecommerce customers post-acquisition. These promises turned out to be nothing more than empty words. I have tried to contact Empire Ecomm and Dan Cohen about getting my store up and running again, but to no avail. It's clear to me that these individuals are scammers and liars with no regard for the well-being of their customers. This experience has left me feeling pessimistic about the Ecommerce world and the people who operate within it. It's disheartening to know that there are individuals like Roman and Johnny who have no qualms about scamming innocent people out of their hard-earned money. Please be cautious when doing business with Roman Cresto, Johnny Cresto, or any company associated with them. I honestly wanted to give up on this entire industry and happened to find a company who is helping me with my suspension. So, I was recommended by one of my friends to work with another company for suspension and at least get direct access to someone credible in the industry. I had a long talk with the owner and found out all the glaring issues with the automation company and their processes. It’s no wonder that my store was suspended; they were doing a lot of illegal activities on my store which led to a hard tag of “Fraud” on my seller account. I decided to give the agency a shot on reinstating my account. The agency took up the challenge of reinstating my account and worked tirelessly for six long and hard months. Finally, they were able to get my account reinstated, and we began working together on managing my account. Their sister company helped us launch three product lines from scratch, and although we initially lost money to get the products ranked properly, we continued to test and refine our marketing campaigns. Finally, after ten months, we were able to generate a monthly profit of 7k. The agency provided me with weekly reports and even taught me about the backend processes that they were implementing for my store. They’re all fake, man — straight up. If Amazon automation actually worked the way they pitch it, these “companies” would just run their own stores and print money. Instead, they take your money and run risky or shady models under your name. The biggest one recently was SmartFBA — looked legit, even had influencers vouching for it, but it collapsed and left people with millions in losses. If you want to succeed on Amazon, skip the shortcuts. Learn how to: Use product research tools like Helium 10 or Jungle Scout Understand what makes a good niche (demand, low competition, margin) Start with a small test order, optimize your listing, and build from there FBA works — but not as some “hands-off, passive income” fantasy. Amazon may use the MOST automation, but they are far from the MOST AUTOMATED. Amazon does 90%+ piece picking. So yes, they have autonomous robots bring goods to a person, but there is still a person picking the odd shaped individual units. Now, Amazon is investing hundreds of millions in vision guided robots with end-effectors that are closer in capability to a human hand. But they are not widely used at scale yet. For the most automated facilities, there are Grocery DC’s and Pharma DC’s that are close to 100% fulfillment without human involvement. In these environments, you have very robot-friendly packaging. So the idea of automatic selection of cases for orders, and then robots building customer order pallets using “kinda AI” based software to build a nice, steady pallet is now a standard approach.
