March 29, 2023 - Amazon doesn't have customer service. It's part of their policy. ... I've selected 'Refund to original payment method' but they still put it on gift card balance. I think it's easier and more convenient for them to do so rather than reimburse to your credit card and they expect you'll eventually use it in the future.

I submitted a return, but somehow selected "amazon account balance" to return the funds to Instead of the desired original credit card the payment was made on...
Is it possible via the web interface to correct the returns desired path of refund if the pickup was just made, but amazon has not received it?
Thanks for any help, can restructure/clarify the question if confusing, having difficulty finding any reference to information on the topic.

you cant update it anymore. wait for the refund to be posted to your gift card balance then call CS so that they can reprocess it back to your original form of payment
