December 5, 2024 - If you never found a solution since this comment, I was able to remove the product at https://www.amazon.com/gp/yourstore/recs/ (you can get there by hovering over Account & Lists -> click Recommendations -> (optional) click Recommended For You (at the top). On that page, you can click on the item in the "Top picks for you" or "Buy it again" section, then click "Remove this recommendation."

I did that with a couple of items before I realized it wasn’t adding it to my cart. So what in the heck is the Buy it Again button for anyway? ... So I clicked that thinking it would add it to my cart. You actually have to select the number of items you want to buy again.

Something like a private wish-list that doesn't remove items once you purchase it.

If you check "your account" and then "your orders" it will show your previous purchases with a "buy it again" button. Also, you can go to your wish list and filter it by "purchased" and it will only show those items for you to buy again.

When I hover over my cart a menu expands with my five most purchased items with buy it again buttons next to each one. Just me?

I’m sure someone has asked this before, but I bought a gift on a shared account that I don’t want other users to see (it’s for a white elephant exchange, so not exactly sensitive but still want to maintain the surprise). Just wanted to know if I could remove some/all the items there if I needed to.

Yes, look at your order history and, for the items you wish to hide, click on a link that says “archive order.“ I don’t see it in the mobile app, but I do see it in the lower left corner of each “Your Orders” listing in a web browser. You can also click to view your browsing history and remove individual items from your history.

go to your recommendations page on your laptop

at the top of the page there is a button that says "Improve your recommendations," click it

click on the slider of the item you don't want to see on your "buy it again" page
This should remove it from your buy it again list. Doing this and archiving the order in the "orders" page should hide your items quite well.

Using the app or online, I can no longer search my past purchases by keyword or name. My only options are to sort by “recommended”, “purchase date”, or “purchase count”. That’s not helpful at all. I’ve bought thousands of items. All I know is what it’s called. What am I missing? How do I search past purchases by name or keyword? No help in filters as all that shows is category.

I had the same problem a couple days ago but I tried again literally 5 minutes ago and it worked as usual. Maybe give it a day or two

Mine is gone now also and it's been a couple weeks. Being able to search for items I purchased previously and buy them again is actually a major reason I have Amazon. Without it I simply won't be able to find the needle in the haystack item that is perfect and I want again so won't be shopping as much and won't buy as often. I'd say it's a poor choice but I'm sure they're just trying to save money. Did this ever happen to come back for you?
