amazon.ca using it's own carrier?

Today, I just got my first delivery via Amazon.ca's own delivery service. I've noticed they are using UPS far less. In the past few weeks, most of my orders have arrived via Canada Post. I have to wonder if Amazon is phasing out their relationship with UPS. Personally, I'd rather have any other service deliver rather than Canada Post. (More than once a delivery person will record they made a delivery attempt when I know full well they didn't. UPS is so much more reliable.) I called Amazon.ca's customer service and was told I couldn't choose a particular carrier as a preferred one. More on reddit.com

This has happened multiple time now. Package said it would be delivered today by 9pm. Ok. Tracking shows no updates since arriving at an Amazon facility earlier in the week, but whatever. Get home and I get an update at 6. Package is delayed in transit. It departed the facility at 4:22pm today. The facility is across the country.

This has happened multiple times now, almost always when Amazon ships using their own service. I get stuff can be delayed or late, but how in the hell is your system telling me that a package that hasn't even left the facility located across the country is going to be delivered by 9pm and only update it 3hrs before. How does that even work?? That's not tracking that's guessing and guessing wrong.

Is anyone else noticing an uptick in this type of crap??
