I have friends at Amazon and the banner you saw on the website is accurate. Amazon as an organization is too big to make a policy that everyone must be remote, or everyone must be onsite etc. initially they came out stating the entire company would be hybrid but after a lot of internal pushback they basically said fuck it every team can decide for themselves. Unless you know the exact team you’ll be working on, you won’t know what your schedule will look like. To add, if the team you’d end up on is fully remote, you might limit a lot of your internal opportunities/promotions/transfers if fully remote is a requirement for you.
