Which sites do Canadians use to shop online, if Amazon.ca is too expensive ?
I live in Canada. Can I still buy things from Amazon.com, instead of Amazon.ca?
Yes, you can buy from any Amazon store you wish, as long as they deliver to your country.
Yes, you have to pay for the currency exchange. Whenever I buy from Amazon, my credit card company automatically exchanges the currency with my local currency. I'm not sure if you can let Amazon to the conversion for you (so that Amazon converts USD -> CAD and charges you with CAD), but even if they do, it usually ends up costing more than having the credit card company do the conversion.
More on reddit.comAmazon Canada was once a great service, but has steadily gone downhill. It is now at a level where it's gotten so bad that it is almost unusable, and has gotten downright exploitative.

They'll ship to you but you'll be paying 1.35-1.40 on the exchange and possibly GST/HST on the price (including shipping) converted back to CDN$ then quite possibly UPS brokerage fees which are stupidly expensive. You can actually broker it yourself quite easily but you need to fill out some forms.
