I have had an Amazon Chase Visa since 2013. I got it mainly for the sweet rewards points and to build my credit. I've had a very active credit history with the card, never missed a payment, and have a history of paying off large balances quickly. Also my credit is 770 now. They currently have me at an interest rate of almost 25 percent, which is ridiculous. I decided to be the adultiest adult ever and call to negotiate a lower APR on my card. Supervisor says there's nothing they can do and that's the lowest they can offer me right now. Question is, is 5% back on amazon purchases really worth it? I don't often carry a balance of more than $500 so I hadn't really been paying attention to the APR, but now I'm kind of pissed that I've done a lot of work to improve my credit and they won't budge an inch. Are there any other cards you would suggest as a replacement, or any other means of negotiation with Chase?

I've heard that they would begin charging interest from the date of purchase rather than from the end of the statement cycle. In other words, they would be treating purchases as if they were a cash advance in terms of when interest applied. Is this true?
I am thinking of getting the Amazon Prime Visa Signature Card. My credit score is 715 and I already have an Amazon membership. I pay my cards off every month, but I only have 5 years of credit history.
Worries due to the following comments on the Amazon website reviews:
"Predatory interest rate," which I usually ignore bc I never let mine acrue any interest, but this one said that they charged interest beginning the day it was purchased rather than at the end of the period. And that if it wasn't paid in whole the entire amount accrued interest including parts already paid off. Random cancellations after already receiving the card... wish I could post screenshots there were a lot of crazy accusations against chase and I've never banked with them before.
