Pre approval denied for Amazon visa. My credit score is above 800

I want to get the Amazon Prime Visa Credit card and have a few questions and here's a little background.
I have never had a credit card for a full day except a Macy's one I canceled on the same day but never received the physical card.
My Credit score is only 662 with only 1 line of credit ever from a 5 year car loan that I paid off without any problems. I had one Macy's Credit card that I canceled on the same day 5+ years ago and it's just sitting there as a closed account still.
I paid off my car years ago and my credit score has been sitting around the same number for years.
I want the Amazon Prime Visa Credit Card because I shop a lot on Amazon and want that 5% back savings and I'll be traveling a lot soon and want that 1% for any other purchases and I want to start building my credit with my first ever credit card. I want a credit card to fall back on incase I need it for an emergency. And I can use it for savings at Whole Foods and to save 2% on gas.
I've read that a 670 score is the minimal requirement and that 700+ score is recommended by experts to get the card.
Do I have to pay for the yearly Amazon Prime membership to get the Prime Visa or can I pay for the monthly plan to get it still?
I don't have a Chase online account either and no Chase bank account, does that matter? I have a bank I've been using for over 10 years and I have a Chime checking and savings account, too. I'm happy with my current bank (it's not a federal credit union) and with my Chime account.
Should I do a pre-qualify check or just go straight into a hard check if I qualify?
Should I make an account to try to get the card on the Amazon website first or on the Chase.com website first? What's the correct order and place to first sign up to try to get a Prime Visa Credit Card?
Should I try to get a different first credit card like the Chase Freedom Rise card at a local Chase building before doing all of this? I don't want a Chase bank account still. It'd be so nice to skip any other card and get the Prime Visa first but maybe I'm thinking about this all wrong.
Thanks so much. (:
Intro: I know it's well established that 5/24 has been waived for the Chase Amazon Prime card, but I wanted to add in my DP here for those thinking of pulling the trigger.
Background: While I just applied for the USBAR a few weeks ago, but the $200 SUB for the Chase Amazon Prime card was too good to resist. Applied last night around 8PM EST and was instantly approved for a $15k credit access line (and a nasty, nasty APR).
5/24 status: I was showing 9/24 at the time of the application, with two accounts not yet appearing on my reports (my USBAR and my Amex BCE). For reference, my most recently opened account that was SHOWING on my reports was the Amex Platinum in Feb of 2024.
Bureau Pulls: Chase pulled my EX and my TU reports (the dreaded double-pull). Interestingly, I was pre-approved in the Amazon app and Chase used TU for that, but decided to pull EX as well during the application. Not sure if freezing EX would've made any difference. Both went down by around 4 points.
Card Availability: The card was able to be added into my Apple Wallet via the Chase app almost immediately after approval (I have a Chase checking account, not sure if this helped) and customer service offered to expedite the card at my request. They told me it should arrive in about 2-3 business days.
Must not try and apply at 7/24… I can resist.
Might apply when I get home
I’m at 5/24 until the end of December, but I wanted to go for the Business cards to churn and then finally the CSP to complete the trifecta. Struggling on if I should try or wait. Does the Amazon card earn transferable UR points or can it only be used for Amazon purchases?
