What is the job like and is it pretty difficult?
I was recently messaged by a AWS Recruiter on LinkedIn. Her profile is verified and her work experience at Amazon was also verified. Other AWS recruiters seems to be active on her account. She emailed me further about the job, but her email isn’t an “@amazon.com” it’s outlook.
Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has worked for amazon or is working for amazon doing data entry at home. Would you guys recommend for a mama? I have a 1 year old and I’m wanting to go back to work as soon as possible because I just need to feel some normalcy again and also to keep my skills. Even if it means for a few hours. Is it possible to wfh with this position? If there’s any other wfh positions what would be a good place? I plan on doing this until my baby is easier for others to help watch and then I can go into work and do my IV work.
TIA <3
Been looking for some casual or part time remote work. I do have an extensive educational background but not necessarily specific to data entry. I’ve recently seen advertised data entry positions for FedEx, Amazon, Walmart, cvs, etc and am considering applying but they sound too good to be true.
Anyone know if they are legit? Most are offering full or part time entry level positions making between $20-40/hr.
I’m a stay at home parent but looking to supplement my income when the kids are in bed or napping and wondering if I should pursue these applications or if I’m wasting my time?
Did you really have to go through a 4 hour interview to get hired? That sounds so intense and insane to me. eeeeek
So basically I get a message to apply to work for Amazon as a remote data entry job. I go through the work, but I haven't given any important private info like social, routing numbers to my bank, ect.
What tipped me off was misspelling in the job application form and now they want to send me an e-check of $500 to buy items for the job, for an example, a printer.
Is this a scam? If so, what should I do?
I'm 57, I have a B.B.A from 1986, I've been a computer programmer my whole career. My brain is not a good fit for computer programming much longer.
This is what they call "semi-retirement". Where you're not ready to fully retire yet (health insurance needs being one big reason) but you still want to do a job, but a much simpler job.
Many old folks go drive for Hertz and Budget, but during the pandemic that went away, maybe it will come back.
I applied on the Amazon website and passed their little 15 minute test about how to stack items correctly and how to not be a psycho in the warehouse.
So I got offers to work at a fulfillment center. My idea was: It's good exercise which I need! It's low pay but I wouldn't be in it for the pay.
So, my QUESTION (finally): Are there other jobs besides entry level moving boxes around? The only other jobs I saw on the hiring website were Personal Shopper ( at a whole foods) and, someone who manages the Amazon Lockers. Thank you very much for any inside knowledge of what Amazon jobs may be available.
Yes, with your degree & experience you could apply for almost any L4-L5 position (even L6 most likely).
You don’t just have to apply for the L1 stuff. But it’s up to you to find the right one you’d think fits what you’re after.
Just reading the first two sentences filled me with sadness. Thank you for your contributions to the digital age all these years.
ICQA Counting would be a great fit for you, in regards to getting into something immediately. It's pretty slow paced inventory checking that focuses on quality more than breakneck rates/speed. Afterwards, a Data Analyst (Tier 3 position) which is essentially under the same department, would fit your career path without being as demanding as actual software development and network management was. Here's a link that explains your daily duties: https://www.amazon.jobs/en/jobs/1203688/icqa-data-analyst
There's positions in the IT department also, but these positions are often pretty rare to appear and heavily contested over. Actually, with your background, might not be much of a contest.. but I cannot provide much insight of what the typical workload is on the Tier 3 and 4 positions in that department, and can't ask one in-person until Thursday. I'll hound out someone from the Sub instead.
If anyone on this sub has worked for Amazon as a Data engineer, preferably entry level or early careers, how has your experience been working at amazon at Amazon?
I’ve heard their work culture is very startup like, and their is an abundance of poor managers. The company just cars about share holder value, instead of caring for their customers and employees.
I wanted to hear on this sub, how has your experience been? How was the hiring process like? What all skills I should develop to work for Amazon?
I have seen a few videos of a guy on youtube researching some companies and fill in information from their websites to a spreadsheet, getting paid 9usd per hour.
Is this just fake to generate traffic to their ebooks and udemy courses and stuff like that, or are those actual jobs? I need to find work. I tried to work as a translator/transcriber but besides almost not finding any work at all, I don't even have a reliable workflow.... Sometimes I go weeks witout anything.
Look. I just wanna pay rent and eat, and I don't even need thousands of dollars for that. But without any specialised skills I am so fucked..
Is that real? How do I find jobs like that? When I look on upwork I don't find work like that, despite the youtuber claiming he found it on upwork (showed the job actually, but he could easily hire himself...)
I understand it is HIGHLY boring work and very repetitive, but I can manage that. Transcription is the same boring shit.
Does anyone actually do it? Where do I look? What is the job title? Help a brother out.
I’ve been looking for the same type of job for almost 2 years. So far every data entry job I come across (LinkedIn, Indeed etc) is bogus. It’s always someone trying to ‘hire’ you so they can send a check to buy equipment for a nonexistent job. I’m sick of getting contacted by ‘recruiters’ who are really scams, and I wish the job boards would put an end to it.
My job is “data entry”. My official title is an Electronic Data Technician but all I do is sit behind a computer and index documents for an insurance company. I only found the job through an old friend who used to work for the same company. So jobs like this do exist but I agree that they are very hard to find and most posts for them on job searching sites are scams. Maybe look up some insurance company websites and look at their available jobs? My company only posts their job openings on their website and I would guess that’s how most other insurance companies do it as well. Or possibly try looking for indexing jobs instead of data entry. Best of luck!
Hello all,
Tier-1 Here. I have been accepted to a Data Analyst cohort through Merit America and Career Choice. I have a whole track I have for myself and this is part of it to start getting some IT experience, plus I may end up liking Data Analytics, who knows.
I am curious though, does anybody here know how often Data Analyst positions might open at FC's. Obviously some may be more often than others, but I mean on average. I'm REALLY hoping I can use this education to get a job that's still within Amazon, because then I can continue to utilize the Career Choice program, but I'm not sure if that's a far-fetched hope.
Any advice would be helpful, and I appreciate it in advance. Thank you.
Due to not being able to get a car or a ride, I cannot really go anywhere to get any job. I wonder if it is possible to get a remote entry level remote job from Amazon? I want to work remotely but I do not qualify for any higher-level employment jobs but I can do things that are entry level. I wonder if those jobs are still available at Amazon?
I have no post highschool education and am looking for something relatively simple and low level, like data entry. Currently I work for $15 an hour, but that isn't enough to live on my own anymore. There is only 1 job in this town that pays more than that and they aren't hiring until next year, and even then they only hire seasonal workers that get laid off after Christmas.
Would it also be a good idea to include something like "beginner level C# skill" due to my dabbing into game development on an application?
Do they still give you a laptop? What are the hours like and do you enjoy it?
Whats your daily work flow like? I've read comments from people saying they work 9 months and take a 3 month sabbatical but no clue how that even makes sense
Any information at all about what you do and what your day is like!
I don't have many skills and want to try data entry but I don't know what websites to apply for and what skills I need. Ty for advice!
I’ve been working data entry off and on since I was a teenager. Everything has changed so much since I last worked. Now they all want a Bachelors Degree for the same exact stuff I was doing with just a HS Diploma. I’ve been typing the “remote data entry” on a bunch of sites, but it’s looking like degree>experience.
I was recruited to a data entry position through an employment agency. Best job I've ever had, but the bar was extremely low, ngl. Since then, I've been promoted to cost analyst!
My advice: find an employment agency and let them use their connections to put you where you need to be. They should NOT require you to pay for their services. If they do, it is a scam. Agencies get paid from the companies they are recruiting workers to.
