So I ordered something that was supposed to arrive today and I just checked my Amazon account and it says that 'an attempt was made to deliver it'. I was at home the whole day and I haven't heard any door knocks or bell, and there is no note telling me anything.
They also say they will attempt to re-deliver on the next business day. Today is Saturday, so I'm assuming that I won't get it tomorrow. Does this change if you're using Prime; like will they try to deliver it tomorrow (Sunday) or will it still be Monday?

This happened to me some years ago when waiting for my new TV. The delivery guy didn't want to bring the big box upstairs and it was one of his last stops. When I saw that they attempted to deliver, I called support and they called the guy at home and made him come back to deliver it. He was pissed but he should done his job correctly to begin with. So just call support.

So, long story short, I lost a textbook I NEED for a tutoring job on campus. Purchased a new 70 dollar copy on Friday, rush shipped it for an extra 9 dollars to get here today.
I've been home ALL morning. Awake and home. Have not heard a single knock. My roommates been awake as well. No knock on the door from a delivery personnel.
I live in an apartment complex -- nothing fancy, it isn't fenced in or anything. No security gates. Everytime I've received a package up until now, if it's small it goes in my mailbox, if not it goes in front of my door.
Yet I JUST received an email from Amazon saying:
"Hi Megan,
Sorry we missed you. We tried, but we weren't able to deliver your package today.
We'll try again on the next business day."
On Amazon's actual website, it says:
"Delivery attempted An attempt was made to deliver your package, but the business was closed. Please look for a notice of attempted delivery for the next steps."
I have no idea what "business" is closed. Nothing gets delivered to the apartment's office.
Any help on what the issue was? I am 100% certain no one came to my door. I've been sitting here waiting since 8AM.

Here's what you can do Contact Amazon and let them know that the carrier lied about a delivery. Tell them the item is very important and you needed it that day. They'll say that if it doesn't come tomorrow you can receive a replacement and that they will contact the courier. If the package arrives - great. If not contact Amazon, mention to the rep you contacted them yesterday and need a replacement item. They'll confirm it. Contact the shipping company and ask them where the package went etc. Chances are some lazy courier lost the package. Ask them to find it and deliver it. If they end up delivering it you have two of what ever you ordered. You can contact Amazon and let them know that the second arrived and they can decide from there.

Got the notification that delivery was supposedly attempted after only looking on my phone 5 mins before and it said it was 5 stops away! I was literally home waiting for it to arrive, even watching out the window and there was never a delivery driver there, they literally lied!
I got in contact with support, they say the driver has been reported and they said that delivery will be re attempted today before 10pm!
My question is has this ever happened to anyone before, and if so was the parcel actually redelivered on the same day? Because nothing has updated on the app saying it actually will be delivered…
It’s a pretty urgent delivery, that’s why I ordered on Prime. I’ve never had an issue like this before so I’m really annoyed :(

I've gotten that - mostly when my package is being delivered by a third party. They must have crazy numbers to meet as far as deliveries and accepted timing/delays so I think they sometimes label it as delivered on their end even though it's obviously not. My package still arrives within another day, so it's generally not a big deal for me. But sorry that happened to you with the urgency of the package arriving.

Delivery attempted is what the app says if the driver was unable to deliver for /any/ reason. It's far more likely that the package was never in the van to begin with.
