An online friend sent a screenshot of a gift card email with the code at the bottom. They asked me to
Since they’re not asking me to click on any links or anything like that, I’m not worried about that.
But wondering, if I redeem the gift card- will it tell them who, what I bought, where I shipped it to? (I use a friends amazon prime hence why I’m hesitant as I don’t want to leak their info)
& could they turn around and say someone fraudulently redeemed the gift card and the money taken from the account? Is there any way for them to get access to my amazon account or any of its info, by me redeeming this gift card?
I’d rather be safe than sorry. But don’t know how to nicely decline the gift card…
what a waste of $50

I purchase a batch of gift cards and redeem them slowly as needed. I can't tell you why we do it this way but we've just been doing it this way for years now without issues.
We keep gift cards in their originally packaging. They're usually in a clear plastic bag, and then the paper envelope holding the gift card.
I went to redeem 3 of these cards. 2 of them had no issues. The 3rd kept telling me it was already used. I had just opened the plastic bag, taken the card out, and pulled the code cover sticker. I tried using both my phone app to read the code and website manually putting in the numbers/letters
I've been talking to support but they just tell me it's been redeemed. One was asking me who redeemed it (the name of the person), and I told them all possible names who could've redeemed it (all family) and they said none of those people.
Has anyone experienced this before? If so, how was it resolved?

Edit:
Gift cards were purchased from amazon website. Their default "Amazon.com Gift Card in a Mini Envelope"
Buying gift cards in general is kind of risky, but I never expected there to be an issue with digital cards since I figured those would be generating a fresh code or something.
Well, last March my mom bought a $100 Uber gift card and for some reason the code for the card never got delivered. There is an option on the order to resend the code but we just got an error every time we tried to do it.
Contacted support and they couldn’t resend the code either so the customer rep said that she would just refund the card and to expect the money back in 5-7 days.
A week passes without a refund so we contact support again. The rep again tries to resend the code but isn’t able to. This time he escalates the issue to some team that specializes in gift cards. They’ll tell me that they’ll investigate the issue in 2 weeks they’ll either give me a refund or send me an email about the claim being denied.
Two weeks pass and there is no refund or email. Contact support again, they try to send the code and fail. Rep says they’ll refund and I’ll get the money back in a week.
And this just goes on and on and on. It’s been 2 months now without a resolution. I understand that with gift cards it can be tricky. A buyer could easily claim that their gift card didn’t work when it in fact did and then just get a refund. But I would be happy with just the code for the gift card I originally purchased. I don’t understand why they can’t even send the code.
There is a promo going on that you can get 500 points just for buying a gift card of 5000yen +. Am I missing something that its basically free 500 points since you can redeem the gift card for yourself?
Hello!
I've received an Amazon gift card via email but it only contains a button with a link and no code.
This is a screenshot of the email: https://i.imgur.com/VWcfJ7P.png
Is there a way to "extract" the code from the link?
I received a gift card that was sealed and the claim code still covered. Went to redeem it and Amazon says it has already been used. How are theives able to get the code when it looks like everything is sealed? The card was purchased from a legit store.
I know I'm about to go down the rabbit hole with customer service but wondering if anyone else has had this experience recently.
There is a $20 gift card available in My Access today, this is also posted on slickdeals.

Okay, clickbait aside, you do need to do some clicks, copy and paste to get to the stage where you click to redeem makes perfect sense.
For example, in my case, my wife and I, both buy vouchers but with Amex being shit, only stocking Rs. 250 vouchers, I found this hack to redeem them easier than they usually are.
https://www.amazon.in/gp/aw/ya/gcb?ref_=apay_deskhome_AddGiftCard&claimCode=XXXX
Create either a Google Sheet or Excel file, copy the table from Gyftr Email, strip everythnig except the GV themselves, paste the above link a second column and do replace the "XXXX" from it before going further. Then, use CONCAT() function to combine the URL and the GV in another columns.
That's it! You can just visit each URL, when you open the link, the voucher will be redeemed and the page will redirect to the success page.
Do not bother OCRing or Image to text the image above, all vouchers redeemed already.
So I ordered something and in the packaging was a business size card all-Black amazon styling with a $15 thank you gift and a qr code. i know… so anyway, I used my iphone to scan and then clicked the link and it delivered me to a product review page on amazon. no gift card. but likely also malware? how do i tell? how do i fix?
tldr, help, i knew better but i did it anyway.

Gift cards sent within 3 days!
I know it's an extra 30 seconds to get my Amazon gift card code now but why was it changed? Just curious.
Earned through Quickthoughts while trying to raise some money through surveys. They only have Apple or Amazon gift cards though and I’m not really finding a use for it.
Having a terrible night, hoping I can make someone smile. First come, first serve and I’ll PM the rest of the code.

CLAIMED: Card sent to first person that replied to this but if I can get things sorted I wouldn't mind at all doing a few surveys to give more away! - If you have an hour or so to spare and don't mind grinding through some annoying surveys I got the card on Quickthoughts. (The surveys are annoying though.)
Sorry for the wait, this post was approved when I was snoozing. Wish I could send to everyone.
Hey all! I'm looking to get a kindle for my brother-in-law as he's been hinting he wants one. Money is a little tight atm and would love any pointers on how to get amazon giftcards fairly quickly (His birthday is on April 13) as every little £ helps.
I did read that surveys and stuff do pay out in amazon giftcards, but from my research it may take a while to accumulate the eligible amount to withdraw. I also read that echo is giving out amazon vouchers £5 or £10, but have conflicting information as to whether a prescription needs to be ordered.
Does anyone still have a £10 echo referral I might be able to use please?
how do i get the code for an Amazon gift card if the card was sent via email, and there is no link in the email just a "apply to your amazon account balance"
So I am purchasing amazon gift voucher from gyftr and as I selected other credit card instead of infinia, it is showing me 2059 as total with 100rs cashback.
So total will be 2059 and with 100rs cashback so around 2% of cashback on 2000 Rs. And I will be using SBI cashback for transaction which I guess will make 5% more on cashback.
So 2059 - 5% ( from SBI Cashback) = 103 Rs as Cashback and 100Rs more on from gyftr
So on 2000 Rs amazon pay voucher it will cost around 1797 Rs.
Please guide is this trick is correct and am i doing everything correct or not?
Here’s something I discovered a while back. I was poking around my Amazon orders and stumbled across some old Amazon egift cards I’d sent. To my surprise, one of the egift cards I’d emailed / printed for a birthday still showed "Ready to print" / "Not Yet Redeemed."
Because the recipients never claimed them and Amazon gift cards never expire.... the money was just sitting in limbo. I grabbed the egift card codes, applied them to my own account.
I then combed through every Amazon gift card order more than a year old. By the time I finished searching, I’d recovered over $500 which I was happy to apply back into my account. It feels a little shady, but I’m really just reclaiming cash that was lost in someone else’s inbox or junk drawer.
I give people at least a year to use the card; after that, fair game. Worst-case scenario, a friend finds the card later(after a year) and asks what happened, at which point I’ll happily send them a fresh one and blame Amazon.
I don’t want to buy it if it takes them several hours just to send the code to my email
