What's your amazon interview experience?
My experience was good. Applied using a referral from a random dude I met on Blind, lol. Did not even plan to apply that early as I thought I am not good enough. Recruiter reached out, scheduled OA. Did an OA, did not pass some test cases for one of the questions so thought I failed but nah. Got a call from a recruiter saying they want to schedule onsite. Scheduled onsite in a month. Then asked for two more weeks as felt unprepared. They were ok with it. Day of onsite. 4 back-to-back interviews, everyone was polite and questions were reasonable (all medium). Some questions were from leetcode, some were custom. A lot of LPs. Every interviewer showed up in time and was helpful during interview, they let me ask questions and overall had a nice chat with everyone. Two days after interviews got a call from a HM saying I passed but position was closed. So I had to go through a team matching. Scheduled a couple of calls with different teams. All calls were good, managers were trying to "sell" their teams. Picked the one I liked more and mentioned it to my recruiter. Got an offer next day. Edit: clarity. More on reddit.com

They asked me around 5–10 questions, but they usually "dive deep" into each question until you provide the perfect answer they're looking for. Most of their questions focused on my past experiences in similar roles. For example, they asked things like, "What would you do if you and your manager had a conflict?" or "What would you improve to perfect vendor relationships?" They also asked, "What was the most difficult material you purchased, and how did you overcome the challenges?" etc. They are more focused on having a casual conversation that flows naturally, so reading from a script definitely won't help. I recently had an interview for a Category Manager role, and it was one of the toughest interviews I've ever done. MAKE SURE to have your stories prepared! I had at least three storylines ready, but even that wasn't enough. They dig very deep into every question. I'd say this was probably the longest hour of my entire life. Make sure to talk to your technical recruiter for sample interview questions or to get an idea of what they might ask based on the 16 leadership principles. More on reddit.com

I applied for an Amazon position in Seattle and today got two emails, one asking me to schedule a phone interview and another asking me to schedule a call with a recruiter before scheduling a phone interview. Is this normal? What should I expect from the recruiter call? I’m not a strong interviewer but I want this job (over 200 applications since September and this is only my second interview request) so this has me super nervous, any advice is appreciated!
edit/update: The recruiter call was a LOT of info about the job, and some helpful tips about the interview, what they’re looking for. The first virtual interview included a LOT of questions about times I’d failed, assuming they wanted what I learned from it. I apparently succeeded, as I’ve now been invited to the final round which includes a call with a different recruiter and then a ‘virtual onsite’ with 3-4 interviews in one day
