Setting Maven-compiler-version to Amazon Corretto?

Corretto is just a java implementation. So if you tell Maven that you have 1.8 source code and want to target a 1.8 Java VM, then Maven won't care if that is corretto or maybe Oracle Java, as long as you provide a version 8 of them. If Corretto or something else is used will then be decided by either your IDE settings or your JAVA_HOME variable (could also be the first javac that is on your PATH variable, not sure, maybe someone else can pitch in) More on reddit.com

Is java-openjfx broken?

My advice is not to use the packaged runtime at all. These days JavaFX can just be consumed as a normal jar/module and is available on Maven Central. Unless you're working on something super simple you should probably be using Maven/Gradle or some other dependency/build manager already, right? In which case it makes more sense imo to treat JavaFX the same way as all your other dependencies rather than trying to fiddle around and resolve it via some weird platform-specific side channel. This is especially important if either: Its a desktop app and you want to deploy to users in the future. There will be other devs on this and you want the dev environment to be straightforward to set up. More on reddit.com
