September 22, 2021 - You’ll want to make sure you have an email that you’re going to be okay with giving to the buyer, preferably one that is only associated with your Merch account versus other Amazon-centric services. Other than getting the financials and proof of income to us, there isn’t that much else for a Merch business to prepare to sell on our marketplace. Unfortunately, you can’t really see how much traffic each shirt design listing is getting since there are no analytics attached to each product listing, so typically, there are no data screenshots to share here. It is also worth noting that all shirt sales for this business came from organic traffic, meaning no paid advertising or promotions were being done for the shirts.

r/MerchByAmazon on Reddit: Anyone Here Making Consistent Sales on Merch by Amazon? What’s Your Strategy?
February 10, 2025 -

For those who have been on Merch by Amazon (MBA) for a while—how’s it going? Are you still making consistent sales, or have things slowed down with the increasing competition?

Curious to know what’s working for you now. Do you focus on evergreen designs, or do you chase trending niches? Have you found certain products (shirts, hoodies, phone cases) perform better than others?

Also, how do you handle design creation—do you make your own, outsource, or use AI tools? Would love to hear from seasoned sellers on what’s working and what’s not in 2025!

Total Weekly Sales: 9

Most of my sales are from 2 or 3 designs. As you can see below it started out very slow. I got my rankings up by reviewing my own products and buying the 1st one. I'm sure if I had the ability to advertise on Amazon Merch I could substantially increase sales. My one piece of advice is DO NOT PRICE YOUR SHIRTS LOW to start. I read a lot about people pricing their shirts low to begin and then raising the price as the popularity increases. When you reprice your ranking starts over. I had a great selling/ranking shirt that I increased the price then all the work I did to get it ranked I had to do all over again.

AMAZON MERCH TOTALS FOR 2019

Jan: $7.11

Feb: $6.51

Mar: $48.52

Apr: $142.04

May: $94.71

Jun: $114.44

Jul: $162.13

Aug: $230.12

Sep: $149.91

Oct: $92.38

Nov: $183.05

Dec: $346.51

Total: $ 1,577.43

What I'm curious about is if can you sell your Amazon Merch business? I'm looking for a cash infusion and this is my only active hustle at the moment. Could this be sold similar to a website on Flippa or somewhere?

I am considering starting an Amazon Mech account to sell some designs. However, I am wondering how much you have to sell for it to really be worth it?

I make about $1100 a month on my Amazon stuff. It’s my best selling tshirt store for sure, but I’ve found a lot more success with deskpads and mousepads so I’ve been dedicating more time to updating product there since the ROI of my time is much higher. I’m tier 100,000 on MBA. I’ve been a member since like 2015 or 2016. Now I just let my store coast and give me passive income. I always mean to do more to it but my actual job just eats too much of my time.

I consistently make between $3200-4000 during a "normal" month, but up to 8-9K during November and December. I am NOT normal though. I got into Merch in 2017 and got into some niches that were underserved at the time, letting me get a really good record of sales before it became super saturated. I doubt I'd be that successful if I had to start over. I've sold 63,022 items for a total royalty amount of $311,181.04. I do around 20-30 sales a day. It varies quite a bit. I do not advertise at all, but probably should. That being said... if you want to try it just give it a go. At worse, you never sell anything. At best, you luck out and get into some burgeoning niches and make bank. I've seen newbies be doing really, really well in less then a year. Don't forget you can upload your designs to other sites like Teepublic and Redbubble. You can also get into doing some Print on Demand and link a print provider with Printful or Printify to Ebay and the like. Don't discount Etsy either! I've gotten a TON of commissions and custom order from Etsy over the last few years. *Edit to add, since people always ask. I have 2,610 live designs. Far less then many people do but I tend to focus on good, quality designs that resonate with a particular audience that can tell the difference between some slopped together bullshit and somebody that is actually passionate about the topic.
