I have the unlimited version and it doesn't do that. Probably a planned issue to punish you for not paying for the higher tiers. I still hate the app though. I'm in the process of switching to Apple Music. More on reddit.com

September 4, 2024Anyone else having serious problems with Amazon Music right now?
Ok, sorry I was late to the "party" everyone. Guess I should have researched a little more before posting. So I called Amazon tonight and spoke to the US based customer service. The person I spoke with was very nice and said they had received quite a number of complaints regarding the change to the Music service, and she basically told me, while she couldn't say with 100% certainty that the service would be changed back, she said they were definitely going to be "addressing customer concerns/complaints" in an upcoming update, but she couldn't give an exact date. I did mention possibly wanting to cancel Prime, but there was no mention of any sort of free month or anything. Might have been different if I stuck with the international call center, but I specifically called the US 800 number. Essentially, this "upgrade" borked the entire prime music service turning it into a 100 million song iPod shuffle, which is basically useless, because with that many songs, the likelihood of coming upon the song you actually want to hear is a huge crap shoot! 🤦♂️ More on reddit.com

Maybe this is a first world problem sort of thing, but Jesus H Christ this app is horrible. The amount of issues are endless. Constantly changing the app and locations of things. ‘Shuffled’ playlists are the same 8 songs played over and over. ‘You’ve been listening for awhile, are you still there?’, every 30 minutes or ten songs or whatever it is. Can’t search for a specific song and artist, it’s one or the other, and hope it shows up. I get they are trying to push people to pay for unlimited, but who in their right mind would sign up for unlimited when the experience is so shitty with the regular version? Why say prime comes with music when it’s barely functional? Maybe if unlimited was an add on to prime at a discount it would be worth it, but paying full price for both is a joke
