How Do You Track Your Deliveries?

I'd sign up for both UPS My Choice and Fedex Delivery Manager ... both are free services that track shipments to you based on your address as soon as the shipper initiates the shipment (no having to give access to scrape your email account or manually add tracking numbers to a website). Both services will also allow you to specify delivery instructions (tho I have found those instructions being listened to is highly driver dependent ... especially for Fedex Ground). It also integrates with their smartphone apps to get all your deliveries there as well. UPS will do some paid upgrade options on delivery and allow you to redirect some shipments to other locations (not all shipments are eligible). None of this helps with the shipments that use Amazon for delivery (which is about 95% or more of my deliveries now) ... but I do like having both those services working automatically for me. Can I track Amazon packages using the Amazon tracking number alone?

I'm unaware of an Amazon-specific tracking #. Amazon tracks via their shipper, unless it's AMZL, their own Uber-like shipping service, which they cannot track. And, I'm only aware of buyer access to shipping info. If the buyer wants to share that, and you have a delivery service you can query, you might have luck.

Tracking down charges from Amazon on my credit card

There used to be an Amazon page that let you enter the Amazon charge ID code from the credit card charge and see what order it linked to. That doesn't seem to be available any longer. Package reported as delayed, now I can no longer see tracking history. Is this some kind of ploy to hide the fact that it got lost?

Not a ploy to hide it. They lost it. It’s to give the package a miracle chance to be delivered. I get this I’d say on 1 of every 10 orders. I think I’ve had one show up after this but it was a few weeks later. The replacement I had ordered had already shown up. But in my experience you’ll be contacting them when the timer is up for refund before reordering. More on reddit.com

I'm kind of OCD and like to track my deliveries - both Vine and non-Vine. For example, I use USPS Informed Delivery to be notified of what's coming in the mail each day. I also use Parcel, but the free version is limited to tracking 3 deliveries at a time.

I just look at the orders page. If it's something small, I know it's going in the box. If it's going to be a larger package, I know a separate delivery may bring it to the door.
