Can I track Amazon packages using the Amazon tracking number alone?
I'm unaware of an Amazon-specific tracking #. Amazon tracks via their shipper, unless it's AMZL, their own Uber-like shipping service, which they cannot track. And, I'm only aware of buyer access to shipping info. If the buyer wants to share that, and you have a delivery service you can query, you might have luck.

Where can I find my Amazon order number?
You can find your Amazon order number in a few places:
- Confirmation email: After checkout, Amazon sends you a receipt by email. The order number is listed near the top.
- Your Amazon account: Go to “Your Orders” from the account menu. Each listed order shows its order number.
- Invoice or receipt: If you download or print an invoice, the number is usually at the top right or near the item list.
It's a good idea to keep this number if you're managing expenses, filing for reimbursements, or planning to return or exchange a product. It helps confirm exactly which transaction you’re referring to, especially if you’ve bought similar items more than once.
Can I track an Amazon package using my order number?
The short answer is no — Amazon order numbers are not designed for shipment tracking. While they help identify the order itself, they don't give you direct access to the real-time progress of your delivery. Tracking is handled separately, through the tracking number that gets assigned once your package ships.
To see where your package is, log in to your account and go to Your Orders. Find the order you’re looking for and select “Track Package.” This shows updates like when the package leaves the warehouse, moves between facilities, or gets out for delivery. You’ll also see estimated delivery dates and which courier is handling the shipment.
If you want more detailed tracking, or you’re using multiple couriers, you can enter your Amazon tracking number on the Ship24 Amazon tracking page. This is especially helpful if the item is shipped through Amazon Logistics, UPS, FedEx, or other partners.
What’s the difference between an order number and a tracking number?
These two numbers serve different purposes. The order number represents your entire purchase. It connects to things like payment, item details, and customer support. The tracking number, on the other hand, is assigned after the item ships and is used only to follow the movement of the package from the warehouse to your delivery address.
Let’s say you buy three items in one order. That order will have a single order number. But if those items ship in separate packages, each shipment might have its tracking number. The order number stays the same, while the tracking numbers vary depending on how the order is fulfilled.
If you're trying to check delivery progress, you’ll need the tracking number, not the order number. That’s why it’s important to check both the shipment details and order history when you're managing Amazon purchases.
Ship24 allows you to track Amazon packages using the tracking number across multiple couriers in real time. This is useful when deliveries are handled by third-party partners or if your Amazon order includes international shipping. You can track several shipments at once from one dashboard, making it easier to manage everything in one place.
