Can I Track an Amazon Order Without Logging In?
Amazon used to allow public tracking pages accessible via email links. However, since April 2021, tracking details are only available when you’re logged into your Amazon account. This change was introduced to improve security and prevent unauthorized access to customer shipment information.
If you have a tracking number from a third-party courier (like FedEx, DHL, or China Post), you can bypass this restriction by entering that number directly on Ship24. This is especially helpful if you're receiving a gift or shipment on someone else’s behalf and don’t have access to their Amazon login.
Where can I find my Amazon order number?
You can find your Amazon order number in a few places:
- Confirmation email: After checkout, Amazon sends you a receipt by email. The order number is listed near the top.
- Your Amazon account: Go to “Your Orders” from the account menu. Each listed order shows its order number.
- Invoice or receipt: If you download or print an invoice, the number is usually at the top right or near the item list.
It's a good idea to keep this number if you're managing expenses, filing for reimbursements, or planning to return or exchange a product. It helps confirm exactly which transaction you’re referring to, especially if you’ve bought similar items more than once.
What is an Amazon order number?
An Amazon order number is a unique identifier assigned to every order placed on the platform. It typically follows a three-part format, starting with “112-” and followed by two sets of numbers (e.g., 112-1234567-1234567). You’ll see this number immediately after placing an order, both on the confirmation screen and in the email sent to your inbox. It also stays available within your Amazon account under “Your Orders.”
This number allows Amazon’s system to quickly locate order details. If you ever need help with your purchase, such as requesting a return, asking about a delivery issue, or confirming what you bought, the order number is what links everything together. It’s especially useful if you’re dealing with multiple orders or reaching out to sellers through the marketplace.
On my friend's account he ordered something and his internet went out(doesn't have a phone with data) and doesn't want me accessing his account, but wants me to track his order, so how would I do that, I have the order number and google couldn't help me.
