I got a last minute invite to a Halloween party for Saturday 10/26. So throw 2 individual things in my cart and BOTH had the option for 7-11AM shipping so naturally i choose that, reconfirm that it’s overnight delivery and press buy and now the “estimated delivery” is Sunday for one and Monday for the other item. I have no problem physically goin into a store (if i can find one that sells what i need) but like what the hell am i dropping $15 a month for if it truly isn’t overnight? I live about 45 mins from an Amazon hub/warehouse so I’m hoping my proximity will work in my favor but yea this is annoying lol
I'm genuinely curious because I recognize this may be an issue with just my area (or just me, could be bad luck). I've had several cases where I'll order 2 things, one is next day delivery from 4am-8am or whatever, and the other will be normal next day delivery (before 10pm or something), and I'll get the next day delivery but the overnight will get delayed and take a couple days to get to me. I know, this is like the epitome of first world problems, but it has happened enough that given the choice between overnight and next day, I'll choose next day delivery because it seems more consistent. I don't really know why this is, if it's bad luck, or some problem with the shipping process.
Have you noticed a similar issue? I live in Kentucky btw, the nearest shipping facility to me is Shepherdsville, KY.

Basically, the title. I ordered an item that I needed today, and unfortunately it wasn't available for next day delivery, but I could pay $2.99 for overnight delivery (it was less than $25). It gave me the option of either 4 AM to 8 AM or 7 AM to 11 AM. Of course I don't want a package showing up at 4 AM, so I made sure to select the later window. I was then awakened this morning at 4:45 to my driveway bell going off. Miraculously, it didn't wake the kids or bother the dog, but my husband and I were very annoyed. Why bother to select a delivery window if it's not going to be honored?
What is going on with Amazon? Why even offer overnight shipping if you can’t do it. I’ve never had this issue before. I think they should at least refund the shipping fees if they can’t provide the service that was paid for.
About almost half of my orders are " Package delayed in transit" Chat said "don't worry it'll be here by xxx time" it never does. This item will come late and I won't need it because I had to get it locally. This has been a nightmare for the past year.
Are the overnight delivery drivers different than the other drivers? The reason I ask is I live in an apartment building with a door code. Any and all deliveries during the day the driver delivers no problem. I have overnighted things 4 times and all 4 times I get a text at 5 am saying help the code doesn’t work and then a message saying deliver couldn’t be made. When I call I get Amazon’s new customer service approach of the customer is always wrong and am told I need to change the delivery instructions. I pointed out if 99 of 100 people can get in the door using the code then the problem is with the one idiot who can’t. 🤬
Overnight or very early morning deliveries are done by Amazon Flex. Those are the gig workers that use their own vehicles to deliver amazon packages.
Yes, they are different- it’s called “Flex,” and they’re individual contractors doing gig work
And, yes, you need to include an access code if its needed in your delivery notes.
Sorry to vent but they are the absolute worst. Never take picture and I never get my package. I am done using this feature. The worst laziest drivers are used for this. Just use regular delivery trust me it will work out much better.
Rant over
Hello! I'm new to vine and I've had a number of items come overnight lately. I have some significant reasons that I don't want anyone entering the property at night or any packages being left out overnight.
The only options after ordering seem to be canceling or leaving delivery instructions, like "leave at back door", etc. Does anyone know if there's a way to avoid overnight deliveries or to adjust the timing?
I got the message "We're sorry your delivery is late. If you prefer not to wait for this package, you can cancel and get a refund." But I don't see any options to cancel...what gives?
I have never actually received an item overnight, in fact they still run just as late as the other items. I ordered a thermometer (currently have a sick kid) it was supposed to be overnight delivery. I check on status this morning, and it says arriving Tuesday. That’s FIVE days. Overnight delivery isn’t happening, but WTF happened to 2 day prime delivery.
I am not currently a member of Amazon Prime, but I used to be. I remember it used to be fairly easy to get items delivered the same day or the next day where I live.
The items in my cart, most of them have a same day or next day option. When I went to check out, there was a an offer to for a free 30-day trial of prime. I declined it, but out of curiosity I looked at the shipping options, which they still show. The options they were advertising for each individual item seem to have disappeared, and instead I would get all of these items in two days. I have attached screenshots. There is an offer for overnight shipping for the one item, but no offers for same-day shipping (which is advertised on the individual page) for the other three items. The only reason I would have to take the Amazon prime offer is if they could offer me a same-day shipping option, even if it cost a little more. But that option disappears once I get into checkout.
Why tf am I paying for prime if every time I order something and select the overnight delivery it’s more than 2 days late. I legit get extra stuff just to meet the minimum price requirement (yes I make sure it’s eligible). I’m so glad I pay a monthly subscription for prime when I could just pay extra for faster shipping on eBay at this point and actually get it on time.
i ordered this item 2.5 days ago, and the eta is always "Arriving overnight 7 AM – 11 AM"
its like going to the paint store and buying a bucket of paint that is labeled "black paint", but you get it home and only to open it to find its white.
only to learn that "black paint" is just a type of paint, its not meant to actually mean the color black, except for the part where it tricks you into buying it, oops did i say that out loud?
every time i call amazon or post here about these incorrect eta's i am lead to think i misunderstood something.
if i buy something this very moment and it says "Arriving overnight 7 AM – 11 AM"", i would like to think that it will be here the very next morning.
let me guess, im crazy or some how misunderstood the eta yet again?
It was one of those delivery overnight between 4am-8am if you place a $35 order within the next xhours xxminutes. Now the item has no estimated delivery time or date, just says "preparing for shipment" and "arriving, " with a blank space where the estimated delivery time usually is.
I assumed the item was located in a local warehouse and it was just to be delivered by a flex driver because of the fast delivery time. Is the holdup likely due to being unable to locate the item in the warehouse or could there be something else going on? Is there a point in the day that something will trigger a change in order status if they are unable to locate it? Its an item I need by the end of the day, so if Amazon doesn't send it, I will have to go out to the store and buy one, even if it costs significantly more.
Contacted support and all they could offer was "we see that the item is in final shipping stages and it will be updated once shipped". Contacted support on twitter and got "we can't help until 3 days after the delivery date." Can they really not pick up a phone and call someone find out what the hold up is? If they can't find it, I would like to know asap, not in 3 days.
Idk what’s going on with Amazon shipping lately. I live in the suburbs of a city with a warehouse close by so I get practically everything sold by Amazon in same day or next day delivery. Now literally everything on Amazon is at minimum a week out for delivery. Things I buy on a consistent basis for a long time now like peanuts, toiletries, coffee, etc that are always prime shipping same day/next day are even a week out. I know it’s the holiday season, but I’ve never had this problem before even during holiday seasons. The warehouse is like 15 minutes away lol it’s honestly kinda becoming a nuisance as a lot of products I buy regularly with a consistent delivery time I can no longer get in a viable time anymore so I have to go other places and pay more
Furthermore there’s also been other kinda peculiar things happening. A couple times in the past two weeks when ive ordered something that’s supposed to arrive a certain day, and the tracking verified it will be delivered a certain day, I’ve had it delivered days early? One item wasn’t supposed to arrive until Tuesday but was delivered on this past Sunday at like 930 pm lol I’m not complaining about that it’s just bizarre. Sometimes when I go to order something the shipping will say like a week later, then a couple hours go by and it will change to same day, the another hour goes by it will change back to even longer than the first time lol
Has anybody else noticed a strange shift in shipping lately or is it just me?
EDIT: So I noticed something just now, I went to look at honey roasted peanuts that I always buy with same day shipping. It says they won’t arrive until Thursday however….i see it has an option to have them delivered in 3hours for an additional $4.99….which means they are indeed still available for same day shipping obviously 🤔
Ordered a couple security cameras and the delivery time being offered was 4AM and 7AM. I live on a condo, so sure Amazon, I will wake up at 4AM to unlock the door and get my order.
At least is an option I guess!
I need a waterproof speaker for a trip on Saturday. I ordered one on Thurs. and specifically chose the speaker that offered "Free Overnight Shipping - Arrives Friday" in big bold lettering.
While completing my order, there was nowhere to actually select overnight shipping, and when I completed the order, expected date of arival said "Saturday".
Amazon's customer service is a snapshot of a futuristic dystopian hellscape. Stuck in an endless loop of idiotic AI Chatbots and worthless FAQs pages.
I have a few questions:
-
Has anyone else had similar experiences? If so, were you abel to fix it?
-
Has anyone ever been able to reach customer service? Like an actual person?
-
How can we hurt Amazon, as to force them to acknowledge and fix their horrendous customer service?
These are the options being given, it is past midnight on April 23rd here. Does overnight mean that it will arrive on April 24th between 7am and 11am?
I think it is the grouping that makes this a little confusing- they seem to be grouping similar price tiers of service vs delivery date.
