Hello,
I have 3 credit cards with American Express - 2 personal cards and 1 business card. I am looking at applying for the Amex Amazon Prime card and was curious if this would hard pull or soft pull? I know once you are in the Amex ecosystem they soft pull but the fact that the application is on the Amazon site and not Amex has me wondering.

The Amex legal terms do not appear to exclude ad spend, but the Reddit thread from 6 years ago says Amazon Ad Spend was not being awarded 5% cash back at that time.

Get the amex gold business instead. U get 4x on adspend. Watch ur points multiply and travel for free when u have time. Points are more valuable than cash back since business points and personal points all go in the same bank. Cash back means the value must be kept in your business for business use only.

The "cash back" in cash back cards doesn't always mean actual cash back. AMEX cashback is deducted from your statement balance. Amazon card cashback is a credit for future spending on Amazon only. Chase cash back is actual cash that is deposited via ACH into an account of your choosing. Capital One is actual cash back, but you have the request a check in the mail and takes about 2 weeks to arrive.
