It really depends how responsible you are financially..... The special financing is great but if you don't pay it off on time you will get hit with the full finance charge. Not just what is left on the balance. It can get quickly out of hand with high APR the store card has. Being new to credit it is probably a long shot for you to get approved for the Chase Amazon Card. So I would stay away from that one initially. I concur that you probably should try to get the Discover IT Student Card. When your credit scores improve and you have a longer credit history than maybe go with the Chase Amazon card. I shop a lot at Amazon myself but I only got the Chase Amazon card when they offered back 5% when shopping at the site. I never wanted the store card because I didn't want to be limited to just Amazon. That being said I do own one store card. That is a Newegg credit card. The APR sucks and has no rewards. I do build my share of PCs and buy pc parts here and there. So I will use the special financing options while waiting to get paid from a client. Sometimes I will buy something I really don't need..... but justify it by using the special financing...lol. BUT I pay off the special financing well before its due. To use all the available time would be a possible easy path to go over and get stuck with the full finance charge. So this option works for me. Not necessarily for everyone........ I cancelled mine. Nothing is two day shipping, easier and faster to order online for curbside at a local store. Too many fake products, no quality control. Ads being introduced to prime video. Who the hell actually uses prime music or their podcast app. It’s a fucking nightmare to actually use. No prime for me. More on reddit.com

The $7.49 rate shown is the student monthly rate. The annual student rate is $69. So for some reason its showing you the non-student annual price; the regular monthly rate is $14.99. Either way, don't switch from the $7.49 a month rate unless it's to the $69 a year student annual rate. More on reddit.com
