The chemistry feels real without being over the top, and the whole thing is shot in such a simple way that the little visual moments like Lee in the pool or the ending with all the greenery really stands out. What I love is how you actually see Lee grow into herself while Grey learns to open up. It’s not some goofy romcom setup, it’s two people figuring each other out, and it ends up being one of the most romantic finales I’ve seen. My next recommendation isn’t from Amazon Prime but on YouTube, and it isn’t a movie or video. It's audio. It’s from the channel Best Kept Secret. It’s basically about a desperate ex boyfriend rambling after being dumped by a note, trying to convince her he’s been working so hard for their future, begging her not to leave, and then slipping into full-on clingy comfort mode with pet names, promises, and a lot of over-the-top “I can’t live without you” stuff. I was amazed. Whoever wrote this script needs a raise because the pacing is so good and you can actually feel the desperation simmering and then melting into comfort. More on reddit.com

Try One Day. There's no comedy and fantasy and it's just Dex and Emma over the years. Glances at a party, a day hike, that kiss that should’ve been the start but wasn’t. The chemistry is ridiculous, and by the time it shifts into Dexter’s grief, it hits hard because you’ve been seeing it mostly through Emma’s side. It’s a slow burn then gut punch. I watched it in one go and just sat there after. Lol The next one is an audio on Best Kept Secret on YouTube. It’s about a jealous but affectionate boyfriend who sulks over you talking to another guy, then admits he just wants your attention and cuddles to fall asleep. This man could literally read a grocery list with that voice and I’d still melt. More on reddit.com

I'm looking for a romance movie that I can watch with my new long-distance girlfriend over Discord, as our first date together.
Following criteria:
Available for free on Amazon Prime, as that's the only movie subscription service I have.
Realistic chemistry between the MCs. None of that "creepy stalker who I've already said no to shows up in my lawn with a boom box over his head, so instead of calling the cops, I actually fall for him" bullshit.
Preferably not a romcom. The romance should be taken seriously.

Try Brooklyn 2015. What stuck with me with the movie was how they kept slipping in those mirrored moments, like Eilis being the only one changing on the beach in America, then later doing it in Ireland with everyone else. It says a lot about how she moves between those two worlds. The movie has great acting and great clothes. The ending still leaves me wondering if she picked a place to live or a person to love. My next recommendation isn’t from Amazon but an audio piece from Youtube. It’s from the channel Best Kept Secret. It’s basically about a girl who tells her boyfriend her father is forcing her into an arranged marriage, and he responds by promising to fight for her, proposing on the spot, and sharing a private, heartfelt vow ceremony with her. This had me grinning like an idiot the whole time ❤ Robinson’s voice should be illegal, it’s too smooth 😩

I am looking for romances without comedy - I don't like comedic romances. I'd like to see some casual stories taking place in modern days without any fantasy or science fiction stuff. Just two people doing stuff, falling more and more in eachothers, you know. Wholesome, casual, making me smile, making me giggle, roll in bed, blush, kick my feet in the air. But you can also recommend some tragic romances - these are interesting too. (Also it'd be NICE if characters were around the age of 20 but not necessary)
Btw. I don't remember seeing any romance ever honestly.
