In July 2015, Prime Day started as a 20th birthday celebration for Amazon’s 20th anniversary. Since then, the shopping event has expanded to two days and across more than 20 countries. The event is normally held in July, aside from 2020, when the event shifted to October that year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and then to June in 2021. And now the retailer offers an additional Prime member sale event during the fall months.

How much is Prime?
As of now, a monthly Prime membership costs $14.99 a month, or $139 for an annual membership. If you opt for the year-long commitment, you’ll end up saving about $40.
