I know I'm late but I spent about an hour figuring it out and its actually pretty simple. First make sure you are connected to WIFI for some reason I couldn't download songs if I wasn't connected. Second it seems to take a while for the purchased songs to be visible on the Amazon Music app. To find the songs you've purchased open the app and navigate to your music and select purchased. That's all I want to do; put the songs I've paid for into a folder where I can play them with my Android Music app, not the Amazon Music app.
Why am I finding this complex?
Am I able to do this, or have Amazon prevented me actually owning what I paid for?
Can someone explain Where the Amazon songs are downloaded to? How I can move them so they appear in my own music app

I know this is an older post, buuuuuut I just wanted to give my 2¢. Apologies in advance for the run ons... I just purchased a new album through Amazon so that I'd get the CD & still get the music now digitally (AutoRip). I did this because I wanted to listen to the album (you can probs guess which) in order for my upcoming walk (vs spotify shuffle - I don't have premium & in my 30+ minute drive home I tried and got through 2 new songs and then the shuffled other) and didn't want to have youtube playing (with screen as again, I don't have premium) and draining my battery. And I don't have much spending money, but I adore this artist and had a gift card (and $0 in promotional credit atm). So I get my music, open the Amazon Music app and *hate it.* The library -> purchased music doesn't have great mobile features for pulling up albums or even sorting by number. Ok, I'll default pull the artist/album up - but then I can't download because I don't have unlimited (again, don't subscribe to these extra costs) - even though I just purchased this album. After a few navigational attempts, I was fed up so uninstalled the app completely. I've also past experience of a friend accidentally subscribing to Music on my Alexa. The friend immediately alerted me but HOW IS IT THAT EASY when she activiated?! And I got the Alexa for free too lol. So I google options for media and how to shift music from desktop to phone, and I don't really want to install a computer app, but I can deal with a mobile app. So I move music around & then am unable to upload the file from that mobile app because permissions, when I am exactly on that permissions page (Media Monkey + Google Pixel 4a5G = likely a user error issue anyway). So I uninstall that app, but I've already moved the music onto my phone, so I try to open that. It works, it's great & allows me to progress songs (vs a different attempt). Yay! Success! All in this took me 30 minutes from purchase to playing on my phone - and I've got 15 minutes before my walk :) Even with this hassle, I'LL GLADLY TAKE THIS OVER DEALING WITH AMAZON MUSIC. :) tl;dr: I'd rather bend over backwards than deal with Amazon Music Note: It's Tswift :) Note 2: I work in education so #broke.
