r/amazonprime on Reddit: Amazon Deleted History of almost all 2023 purchases and won’t bring it back
December 23, 2023 -

All started when I bought an Apple gift card and it locked my account because it thought I was being hacked. Did everything I had to do and realized everything in my account was old and new stuff was wiped. Even my addresses and payment methods were wiped and replaced with old ones I deleted long time ago.

I’ve talked to almost 10 customer support reps over the phone and over live chat, multiple managers. Multiple times I’ve had people escalate it and say the investigations team will get back to me and nothing. Only way to get my proof of purchase for those accounts is to ask support to email it to me.

Any suggestions?

update: the order history came back around a month ago. I gave up awhile back. So I’m not sure if calling helped or not.

The same thing happened to me when I bought an Xbox gift card. But they randomly deleted purchases over the past several months. I was told that it is not possible to get those orders back. My son in law works in the AWS side of the house and told me someone screwed up and none of this should have happened. It seems no one there knows how to undo what happened. Talking to their CSR was a joke. I was advised to not purchase those types of items to prevent the same thing from happening in the future. When I asked why digital gift cards were offered if I shouldn’t purchase them, there was silence on the other end of the phone.

My account had a technical glitch, I was one of the oldest Amazon accounts apparently (old enough from when Amazon was truly a books only website) and every time you change a billing address it updates an internal record within the Amazon system but is not visible on your end and somehow I had too many on mine from all my moves over the years. One day my account was just deleted by this glitch. It took them several days and escalations to the executive customer support to get someone to actually get involved and try to help me. In the end they could not recover my purchase history at all, nor any of my owned digital licenses. They ended up giving me prime for a year for free and a gift card for the estimated value of all those purchases but nothing extra for all the time and trouble it caused me. (They could see the account history on their side but could not restore it for some reason). I was never able to find anyone with a similar situation like this …. You may want to try and escalate to the executive email address. Those people are probably your only hope to get it fixed. It used to be [email protected] , not sure if it has changed with his departure as CEO.

r/amazonprime on Reddit: Account Locked Then Unlocked But Order History Missing
December 10, 2023 -

Evening All,

Today, due to all of the Christmas shopping, Amazon locked the account for what they deemed as fraudulent or suspicious activity. On the email we received it said all of our pending orders will be cancelled and instructed us to contact Amazon to reinstate the account. We called in pretty immediately and had the account unlocked, HOWEVER now effectively all of our order history from the last month is gone. All of our orders are gone. Even searching doesn't find the items HOWEVER we still are receiving email updates for the shipment progress of the orders.

When we call in, staff is either confused or telling us to wait 24 hours for the account to be unlocked, but we are already in the account again.

Has anyone else experienced this and if so did the problem end up resolving itself?

r/amazonprime on Reddit: Tip To Download Amazon Order/Return Information, Chat History, etc.
January 16, 2024 -

Ever since Amazon got rid of order report functionality last year, I’ve been trying to find an easy way to export my order history. As it turns out, Amazon actually still offers a way to do this using their “Request My Data” tool, though it’s buried deep within their help pages.

Here’s the direct link to access: https://www.amazon.com/hz/privacy-central/data-requests/preview.html

There actually a number of different data sets you can download, most notably:

  • Your Orders

  • Search History

  • Advertising

  • Amazon Photos and Drive

  • Prime Video

  • Customer Support Communication

Unfortunately, the process to access the data requires a few steps – you submit a request, then have to confirm it by clicking a link sent to your email. You will then receive a link a few hours later to download the requested data.

I’ve only tried requesting order information thus far, but am pleasantly surprised with the robustness of the data. Here's a link to a high level summary I put together showing the full set of reports and fields Amazon provides when you request your order data

There are obviously a ton of things you can look at in this data, though wanted to highlight a few based on common questions I see on this subreddit

  • Returns Tracking – a lot of folks have reported issues with not knowing the tracking numbers for returns (e.g., if they are dropped off at UPS via QR code). The “Return Requests” file lists the tracking number for all returns you’ve requested

  • Return Reimbursement – the return reports also provide a comprehensive list of refunds from Amazon. You should be able to compare this information to your return requests to make sure that there aren’t any items that you sent back but haven’t been refunded for (I’ve already identified a few in my data!)

  • Prime Subscription Tracking – transactions related to your Prime subscription are in the “digital order” reports, which may be worth checking to ensure you aren’t being double charged for Prime, etc.

Hopefully others find this as helpful as I did (and apologies if this was common knowledge already!)

r/amazonprime on Reddit: Will my orders still show up if my account is placed on hold.
July 22, 2024 -

I placed an order on the 9th for a new case and screen protector, then a rug for my little sister’s room. It was listed as “Out for Delivery” this morning. Then I ordered two books (for me and my mom to share/swap) today a few hours before I got this email saying that my account was placed on hold and any pending orders will be cancelled blah blah.

It’s probably on hold because I used my mom’s card for these purchases (with her permission ofc) and I’m sure her card is probably attached to her own Amazon acct so thats the only reason that makes sense. I sent in the verifications they’re asking for but I cannot access my account until the review is over. I called CS but the guy said he also can’t see my account because of the hold and when I asked if my items that were already marked “out for delivery” would still be delivered he said “I’m not sure”….

I’m hoping someone who has been through this has a more concrete answer about what to expect. It was estimated to be delivered between 3:15pm and 5:15 pm last time I checked but it’s 7:18pm now and I can’t tell if it’s actually not coming or if it’s just delayed.

r/amazonprime on Reddit: Amazon account on hold. What happens to active orders?
September 10, 2023 -

Hi! My Amazon account got put on hold because they detected unusual activity. I have sent an appeal already, but I'm not sure it'll be any good. If my account will be suspended or I don't try to resolve this what will happen to an ongoing order? I'm from the Philippines and I have a Samsung SSD order that shipped two days ago. Will it still go through? " we have temporarily placed it on hold and canceled any pending orders or subscriptions. " from their email. Does this include the ongoing order? It's already paid for and my debit card was charged for it. I barely use Amazon so I don't mind if it becomes permanent, I just want my SSD to come

r/amazon on Reddit: Order not showing up under recent orders??
July 12, 2016 -

Hi r/Amazon! I recently purchased a notebook, it wasn't from Amazon but from a seller on Amazon. I got the confirmation email, and the money came out of my bank account so I assumed everything was normal. I usually use the app, and when I went to the "orders" tab, it wasn't showing up. I then went to my browser and it showed up when I went that route. It was fine for a few days, but now it's not showing up in my browser either! It's like there's no trace of me ordering it on Amazon, just in my email and bank account.

Am I looking in the wrong place or something? Should I contact amazon??

Just a potential fix: you might be in the Amazon of other country, (the Amazon app also changes country sometimes though it asks you), you need to set the country back to the one where you purchased it and that would be it. You may do this by going to your email and click track the shipment of the product you bought

Add me to the growing list encountering this as well. I did my family's Christmas shopping last night and ordered over $600 worth of toys using my Amazon credit card to get the 12 months special financing. I received the confirmation email after the order was placed with order numbers for each shipment. I checked my order history last night before logging out and it showed all my family's toys as expected. Fast forward to this morning and I wake up to an account-alerts email from Amazon saying they detected suspicious activity on my account about 15 minutes after the order was placed and they reversed any recent account changes, cancelled all recent orders, assigned a temporary password, and that I'll need to change it upon logging in again. They also recommend I add two-factor authentication (2FA) to help protect my account. But I already have 2FA enabled on my account; apparently whatever systems they have in place to detect and prevent fraud doesn't verify whether an account already has 2FA enabled. I log in this morning, change my password, and check my order history: none of the toys I ordered last night are showing up in my recent orders. I clicked the "Cancelled Orders" link in the top right and they don't show up there either. It's like my order just vanished; not in my history but not cancelled either. My Amazon account shows no record of me ever placing the order despite having received a confirmation email with all the details. I logged into my Amazon credit card account (Synchrony Bank) and it shows three charges: one for a single dollar which I'm assuming is a temporary hold, and two others totaling about half the total order. So apparently some of the charges went through; not sure if they'll make it all the way to posting but it at least showing pending as of now. I also received an email that one of the toys I order has already shipped out. The email gives me a tracking link to click but all it does is redirect to my Amazon account to view it in my order history which currently shows nothing so I have no way to track it. I chatted with a support agent earlier and he didn't give much information other than he said the suspicious activity email was "a glitch" and he did in fact see my orders in their system and they're supposed to be deliver in the upcoming days. I guess I'll wait and see. It's frustrating not being able to see what I ordered or be able to track anything, all while my credit card is being charged. UPDATE: Well, after 15 days, I finally have an update. It seems my Amazon account was suspended or something due to the alleged "fraudulent" activity despite there being no actual fraud taking place but it really wasn't a suspension as I could still do most normal things on my account. I received an email from Amazon saying my account had been reinstated and to "thank me for letting them know about my cancelled items." I'm not sure what they're talking about as I haven't contacted anyone at Amazon about my account status. Upon logging in today (Dec 31, 2023), my orders page now appears correct with all my previously purchased Christmas items appearing in the list. While nice, it's a bit useless now as all my items did eventually deliver and my credit card was charged so in the end it all worked out but I was still in the dark throughout the whole ordeal. So I'm guessing Amazon "suspended" my account when it detected fraud but still let me log in, view previous orders, place new orders (I bought gift cards for family during this time), change account settings, and chat with Amazon reps about order status? Doesn't sound like a suspension to me, but whatever. FYI for anyone googling who ends up reading this.
