According to their customer support the ad-free extra option only applies to Prime originals and nothing else. Time will tell, I'll update in the comments if I get flooded with ads.
Since day 1 of the announcement I have been asking what will be the increase for the yearly. All I have seen is mentioned a $2.99 increase for the monthly, what about all those with yearly subscriptions? I saw one quick mention of $149.99 which isn't bad, but nothing from Amazon. If you search all you will find is the $2.99, so either the yearly subscriptions aren't getting any increases, the $149.99 was accurate or they haven't mentioned it yet, a little late though it seems.
See title. Decided to pay the hostage fee for no ads since we do actually watch quite a bit.
However MANY movies are still 'Free with Ads' Many of them being 2-5 minutes long every 10-15 minutes.
Lol, Amazon keeps getting worse and worse each year. What is the point of Prime now? You no longer get two day shipping, and now they are charging an extra $2.99 to use prime video without ads. It's starting to become a joke. The only reason I've kept Prime was because a few of the shows they have my wife watches all the time. Now I have to pay extra on top of Prime to get rid of ads. Before you know it, Prime customers are going to have to pay for shipping too.
It’s tagged with prime as well so it’s not a third party movie hosted by someone else.
