I bought a item off Amazon which was already in the same city as me, and i needed it returned back so i used the ups pickup feature off amazon which they say
Before UPS comes, securely pack your return. UPS will bring a prepaid label for your package. UPS will pick up your return package on the next business day. An adult must be present. If the first attempt fails, UPS will try again 2 more times on the next 2 business days.
However when ups came they never gave me no type of label or nothing they just came and too it, it has been 4 days now with no updates or tracking number the package was already in the same city as me when it was delivered to me so it should take 4 days for them to return it back. WHAT DO I DO?? Do i continue to wait and they will eventually give me a tracking number or do i start searching in public.
Hi, I hope I can get insight from UPS employees regarding Amazon returns. I have a package ($600 computer hardware) that I need to return, but I'm only given the option to have UPS pick-up. I've never had this limitation in my years as a Amazon customer and the Customer "service" have been no help to allowing me to drop it off at a nearby UPS store or warehouse.
I live on a busy main street with an open entry 15-20ft from the road and no one is home all week, so I'm not leaving my package all day for all to see and expose to the elements (South Floridian). Is there any way I can print and or receive a label and drop it at UPS?
* I was thinking the label driver's leave at the door after an attempt would be enough to take to a nearby UPS hub/store - correct?
Thanks in advanced for any guidance
Went to return an item and choosing UPS drop off, I am forced to choose from one of 5 locations to drop it off. The location closest to me is not available as an option, and I need to go 10 miles away instead. Has this happened to anyone else? If I go to the UPS by me, would that be a problem (assuming they themselves have no issues scanning my return?).
I got a $1300 used laptop a few months ago (amazon warehouse), it was DOA.
I always get the option to drop off at locker, supermarket, ups, whatever but for this item the only option was UPS pickup. I called and they basically said they have no choice at all, IT HAS TO BE UPS PICKUP. I even said I would pay for shipping myself and they said no, UPS PICKUP!!
The problem with this is that Im not home all day, Im not about to leave an expensive item outside my apartment door hoping the UPS guy shows up and knows what to do. To make it worse I received no tracking number or anything, basically was at the mercy of UPS showing up which they didn’t until a week later even though amazon kept saying “schedule pickup is tomorrow”
Anyone return something over $500 recently and had no other choice but UPS pickup ?
What can i do. They said they have no option
I usually return via UPS pickup at my house since there aren't good dropoff options nearby. It is usually $0 for most reasons. Today, a couple different items I was returning showed $0 for all dropoff options but $7.99 for pickup options. I tested out all different reasons, and the cost didn't change based on reason. What's going on? Any way to get around this new charge?
Ordered something then got looking at and decided it was not what I was wanting. Started a return usually they just say drop off at UPS or post office, schedule a pickup USPS, UPS, etc. This one is like no other option UPS pickup pickup will be tried 3 times in next 3 business days. And oh an adult has to be there UMM I am the only one and work all day now what? They don't even give you a legit label to print leaving it up the the UPS driver so I can't even take to any drop point. Nice they try to make simpler many maybe don't have printers but then have to make it so you have no other options. I'd rather spend $10 and pay to ship it back than try and have to jump through hoops.
I've shopped on Amazon for decades now and have returned hundreds of items. Usually the returns are easy and its a drop off at your local wholefoods or the UPS store with a label.
For the first time in seeing the only option as "UPS Pickup.
Meaning i have to coordinate with UPS on the phone, wait for a courier all day potentially, print additional documents and instructions. (Not like people have jobs or anything)
And no, you cannot drop off the item at the UPS store, it HAS to be picked up.
I wish I could know the return options ahead of time so I could NOT order that item.
Edit - I called UPS asking how the courier was going to get in touch with me. Was told that they were NOT. They are supposed to "buzz" my number. Im currently in a condo with a front desk, no numbers to buzz. Still no courier to be seen.
This type of return-only policy has to be done on purpose - to discourage people from returning expensive items which will immediately lose value and have to be restocked, yikes.
Afternoon Y'all,
I made the Amazon return request this past Thursday(May the 12th), and the return confirmation stated that UPS would be by on the next business day to pickup the return(Friday the 13th in this case).
A driver never came by, though. I WFH and had even left a note on my door basically saying that the item was boxed up and ready to go and to please knock. Nada(I'm getting the vibe that no one came by period).
Is this normal? I.E, Amazon overpromises next business day pickup? Or did I fall through the crack somewhere?
Believe me, I'd much rather just take this return to the store. I'm fully capable of doing so, but Amazon isn't giving me that return option. I either wait for a driver, or pay to ship it back on my own out of pocket.
Ive been trying to return a defective AMD Ryzen CPU to amazon for close to a month, and they refuse to give me a label to return it at the ups store. The only option they will allow me to use is returning it via ups pickup, which is not a viable option because I cant get a day off to sit around waiting for a driver to show up (which is required for this method), I dont have any family members or friends I can ask to hand it over from their address, and my workplace does not have a singular address I can give the driver to pick it up from. They're refusing to give me any other options for return and I only have a few more days left until I run out the return clock. I've tried talking to supervisors but they insist that the option for a UPS store drop off is not available on their screen and thus they cant help me.
Am I just screwed?
I do not want to leave my item outside my door for UPS pickup. Has anyone had any luck going straight to UPS and having them print out a return label and take the return?
I don’t know the time frame of when to leave the package out for UPS to pick up and do I have to be there or I can just leave it outside ? Thanks ahead!
Edit: Thank you all for the helps! The UPS driver just picked it up. Nice guy, he explained to me about the receipt and the tracking number. Offered him a cold bottle of water, he accepted it and seem very appreciative.
It's been a total nightmare dealing with Amazon's CS, so hoping folks can help on here. Amazon only gave me a UPS pickup as my return option, and I live in an apartment when a pickup isn't possible. Few questions:
-Do I need to call UPS to set up a pickup? How do I let them know about the Amazon return label if Amazon doesn't give you a tracking number?
-If I don't leave the package but schedule the pickup, will the driver leave a return label?
