This has happened to me a few times and it’s super irritating. I’m trying to purchase two items that say they are eligible for same day shipping when spending over $35 on eligible items. Together they come to about $40. However, when I go to checkout it says the soonest they can be delivered is two days from now. I live in a large city and the weather is good so I can’t imagine it’s necessarily a delivery issue. Anyone know why this happens?

Because the company tried to restructure their delivery, or so they said but ended up failing miserably. If I order Prime 1 day shipping, I NEVER get it next day anymore, usually 4-5 days later. Which is a crock of .... Going to cancel my prime after my last two package show up.

I’ve noticed that every holiday season Amazon stops the 2 day shipping and makes it 3-5 days. If your paying for the service than you should get the 2 day shipping. But I understand that it’s a busy time. I order something that was same day never got it, it kept saying delayed and then they lost the package.

I’ve not seen a ‘same day’ delivery option on any of my Prime orders for at least 12 months. As next day is good enough for me I didn’t take much notice, but today at work my colleague ordered a new radio alarm clock and mentioned it should be delivered by 10pm today. I headed over to amazon, brought up the exact same clock and I’m only offered next day.
My colleague lives within a 20 minute drive from me and when we compared the same search results, several of his results were offering same day, whereas mine only offered next day.
Is there a premium Prime account I don’t know about?
ETA: It’s just occurred to me that the option for same day delivery disappeared around about the same time I moved into my new flat (Jan of 2021). Is it possible some areas are not eligible for SDD?

This is old I know, but I’m having this problem. Yet I’m still able to send things same day to my work address, which is much closer to the Amazon warehouse. I’m assuming they’ve tightened up the same day delivery radius.

I opened to search for something innocuous and it said the earliest delivery was next Thursday. My partner and I both checked other items that we KNEW they'd have on-site (phone chargers, etc) and some things weren't slotted for delivery until freaking January. Just wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing the same.
Edit: I'm in Kettering, if that means anything. The fulfillment center behind the court is just a mile or 2 from me.

As a driver for the Dayton (and every other surrounding) area, the weather has stalled us a lot. We are told not to go down driveways we might end up stuck on lest we end up delivering zero packages instead of most/all of them on the van. Our vans are not cared for and all the weight makes them prone to needing a tow even on wet leaves let alone black ice. This forces us to contact customer and figure out if they want it in an alternative location, i.e. the mailbox or other safe areas that aren't their front porch. Anyone in towns get affected by this too, because most of the time Amazon is insane and generates routes that are half rural and half not. If I'm calling 40 something customers on my route, I'm bringing back 40 something packages in all likelihood. If not more. And like others said, there was a fatal accident at the distribution warehouse yesterday. I didn't hear about it until later but we had a late start time and I didn't get to my first destination until 2:30PM. There's a backlog of already ordered items trying to reach their destination at the same time a huge amount of new orders are being placed.

I noticed this too. Many things have been pushed to late next week. I wondered if it was the holidays, but it seemed like this happened closer to Christmas.

I was wondering if anyone else was noticing the lack of a same day delivery option? over the past week or so I've noticed most if not all items are scheduled for a two-day delivery instead of one day or same day.

Because they just had 4 straight days of discounted sales for Prime Days where everyone and their mother ordered 10x what they normally would. They don’t have capacity (yet) to offer same day delivery.
