I opened to search for something innocuous and it said the earliest delivery was next Thursday. My partner and I both checked other items that we KNEW they'd have on-site (phone chargers, etc) and some things weren't slotted for delivery until freaking January. Just wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing the same.
Edit: I'm in Kettering, if that means anything. The fulfillment center behind the court is just a mile or 2 from me.
This has happened to me a few times and it’s super irritating. I’m trying to purchase two items that say they are eligible for same day shipping when spending over $35 on eligible items. Together they come to about $40. However, when I go to checkout it says the soonest they can be delivered is two days from now. I live in a large city and the weather is good so I can’t imagine it’s necessarily a delivery issue. Anyone know why this happens?
To start with, I know that many people who have Amazon Prime have been having issues with packages not being delivered on time for years now depending on where they are located...
However, I have had Amazon Prime for about 7 years now and regularly make at least one purchase from Amazon once every week, many weeks even more than that. But until recently, within the last two months, I never had even one order in the 7 years that I had Prime not be delivered on time, every single order was delivered exactly when they said it would be (although I had my fair share of ghost packages with holes in them and nothing in the package). But at the end of April, for the very first time, I had a delivery that was not made on time and ended up being 3 days late... That seemed like an isolated incident as the next 2 weeks once again went smoothly, but soon after that, all of a sudden, hardly anything got delivered on the date that was originally stated...and now NOTHING is on time, I don't even pay attention to the expected delivery date that is initially given as I know it will not be delivered then. Also, only once in a blue moon did Amazon hand off my deliveries to the USPS or FedEx but they are now doing it on a regular basis... So I'm assuming the area I live in, for whatever reason has been hit with a large decrease in delivery drivers, or a large increase in orders having to be fulfilled...
Has anyone else had a similar experience over the last few months?
I was wondering if anyone else was noticing the lack of a same day delivery option? over the past week or so I've noticed most if not all items are scheduled for a two-day delivery instead of one day or same day.
I placed an order for same day delivery and paid extra for the shipping, it was out for delivery earlier, but it didn't arrive today and now says "Now expected tomorrow". I want to request a refund for the shipping charge I paid for, but the only option is "See all updates". I tried the customer service tab but it's all useless generic stuff and it doesn't provide any info besides "your order will arrive tomorrow". I tried the chat option too, but it's all automated and I can't even text back or ask anything, I can only click "ok I'll wait" or "When it will arrive".
How the hell do I get ahold of someone in Amazon to explain the issue and request shipping charge refund? Will they at least automatically send the refund refund after it's delivered? Because this is just horrible customer service (if you can even call it that) and no real options besides the unhelpful automated BS.
Okay what the heck is going on. On Monday I try to place a same-day shipment order on Amazon just like I do about 3 times a week. All of the options say One-day shipping. So I thought okay maybe the same-day option doesn’t work on holidays (Martin Luther King Day was Monday). So the next day, it still shows only a one-day delivery option available. The same day was nonexistent on Monday and Tuesday. So today, I get on there, now it is showing only two day shipping exists on their website. I did a chat with an agent and they said on their end it is showing the items are eligible for same day and my address is eligible for same day as well. Well then what the heck is the problem!? Please, other amazon prime members... has your same/one-day delivery option disappeared too? Or does anyone know what the heck is going on? My zip code is 37130, so I know that my address is NOT what the issue is here. Please help! The Prime Now (2 hour shipping) for varied items is working fine, but the same/one day has vanished from my account! I’m going crazy over here!!!! Thanks in advance.
I’ve not seen a ‘same day’ delivery option on any of my Prime orders for at least 12 months. As next day is good enough for me I didn’t take much notice, but today at work my colleague ordered a new radio alarm clock and mentioned it should be delivered by 10pm today. I headed over to amazon, brought up the exact same clock and I’m only offered next day.
My colleague lives within a 20 minute drive from me and when we compared the same search results, several of his results were offering same day, whereas mine only offered next day.
Is there a premium Prime account I don’t know about?
ETA: It’s just occurred to me that the option for same day delivery disappeared around about the same time I moved into my new flat (Jan of 2021). Is it possible some areas are not eligible for SDD?
Anyone else notice in the past few weeks that you can’t get anything delivered same day anymore? I’m in midtown.
I’d be curious if any Amazon folks on here have the scoop. Honestly it never seemed like a tenable business model to me - the delivery people seem like they’re always having a bad day.
Hello all! I have a quick question, I live in Orlando Florida and this past month I have noticed a lot of my packages have been coming late. Mostly the packages that have been handled my LaserShip and Amazon Logistics. They are arriving a day or 2 late. I have also noticed Amazon has been disabling Same Day delivery a lot as well. For example Thursday I was able to order for Same day delivery but Friday it was disabled and the earliest I could get any of my items was on Monday. Is there anything going on at the warehouses or shipping companies that could be causing this? Thanks for any insight yall could provide.
I realised recently that the whole appeal of prime which was next day delivery is now two day delivery, even three in some cases? What’s going on here?
Everyday, I see someone on here saying prime is a scam now but I’ve never had an issue with a late delivery. I order, usually a few times a month, but I’ve never had one issue with delivery, that I can recall. My guess is people are more likely to complain about not getting a delivery on time, rather than post about a good experience.
Ranting:
I’ve noticed lately that Prime’s “Next Day Delivery” often means two days now, and “Same Day Delivery” seems to have quietly disappeared in many areas. I get that delays happen, but calling it “nextday” when it routinely arrives late feels misleading.
Is this a logistics issue, warehouse stock problem, or just Amazon overpromising and underdelivering lately?
Curious if others are seeing the same trend and what the actual expectation should be for Prime shipping in 2025.
Anyone else noticing this shift? Peace ✌️
I have a bit of an odd situation and was looking for some advice. I recently placed an order of three items which were eligible for next morning shipping. They then got delayed to the following day, then delayed a third time and now say delivery date current unavailable.
However, when I go to the items pages in Amazon I can currently purchase the exact same items again for same day shipping arriving between 5 and 10pm. Should I cancel the delayed order for a refund, or just hope they ship soon? Checking the updates on the package is was out for delivery two days ago and then was reprocessed at the carrier facility, I can only assume it will arrive soon, but this has been frustrating.
Seems a bit bait and switch'ey to say free same day shipping then once added to the cart, that option is no longer available. This happens 99% of the time for me. I literally just had it happen. Added some items to my cart to get free same day shipping, then go to checkout only to find overnight available. Go back to item page and it still says same day.
I have Amazon Prime, and a lot of the stuff I order says same day or next day delivery at checkout. The thing shows up 3 days later. Is there a massive class action lawsuit coming for them, or is it just accepted that shipping timelines are estimated?
Edit: I live 10 miles from an Amazon distribution center. Even if I didn’t- they have my shipping address, weather, traffic info- they should know whether or not same day is possible.
I've been an Amazon Prime member for years and since the pandemic I haven't gotten next day delivery. I figured it was because of covid at the time but not it's been a few years since then and I still don't get next day delivery. My friend tried to explained to me that it may be based on what I'm getting and where it's coming from and sure, that sounds reasonable. Yet all the while my same friend would get next day delivery on everything he ordered. He then asked if I used the filter on the app to search for only next day delivery and I told him that I don't even have that option under the filter. He send me a screen shot and I can see he has that option but I don't. We even tested this with a random amazon search. The item he was looking at had next day option. When he send me the link to the same product, I only had the 2 day option. We both live in the same zip code so I'm not sure what is going on. We pay the same price every month yet I don't have next day option. What is the point of even being a member now? The whole reason I became a member in the first place was to be able to get my package the next day and now that's not even an option for me.
Now I get that sometimes there are multiple sellers who are shipping their orders separate. But I thought everything from prime went through Amazon's own shipping centers. So it really annoys me when an order is split up over several days.
Like just now I ordered 3 pieces of the same type apparel, from same the brand and seller with prime. The only thing that differed was the pattern on the fabric. Same type of fabric too btw.
So why in darnation does prime send me two of the items on August the 9th and the last one on August the 10th. I'm not that eager or desperate to get the stuff that I couldn't wait 24 hours to get all of them the same time.
Instead, I now have to go through the hassle of keeping an eye out for two deliveries instead of one.
Not to mention the climate aspect. I know that Amazon claims that their prime deliveries are carbon neutral (the validity of which I won't go into here) but that's still an extra, and quite frankly, unnecessary trip with a motor vehicle that the planet could have been spared. Plus you'd think a company like amazon would be happy to save the cost of sending out deliveries multiple times to the same address instead of just once.
So why isn't there an option to have all your stuff delivered on the same day, if and when it is practical possible?
