Are the details of the renumeration of how many months that the amazon is liable to pay to employee as a part of severance, not mentioned in the terms of employment? or is not informed at all beforehand?

Here's the formula they use for Pivot tier one severance: 10 weeks of base pay +( basepay* 1%) * (tenure in months /12). Example, for calculating it with a $95k base and 2 year tenure: $95k/52 = $1826 $1826*10= $18,269 Then 95k x 1% = $950 Tenure 24 mo / 12 = 2 $950 x 2 = $1900 You get $18,269 + $1,900 = $19,219 My pivot payment was $34k, and that was with 7 yrs tenure @ $135k base; so the math checks out with the above example.

No, these details won't be spelled out in the documents you sign. Because Amazon doesn't have to pay you any severance, and in some cases won't, depending on why you're being let go. Layoffs vs. Pivot vs. fired for cause are all going to be handled differently. With Pivot, you usually want to take the first package offered, as they only get stingier if you hang on and try to "improve with Amazon".

I get to stay on payroll 90 days. At the end of that, a lump sum severance that includes 1 week for every 6 months of tenure, rounded to the nearest 6 month (min 4 weeks, max 20 weeks) + stipend for healthcare + PTO payout. You will also receive any stock that vests in the 90 day notification period. The actual severance offer will be generated within 10 days of the termination date (end of notification period---for us today 1/26). We are required to sign to receive the lump sum.

This is a good severance package. The worst by far goes tp Tesla that they gave to me. They put you intentionally on PIP to not pay you any package.
