If you supply Amazon with your state(s) resale certification, they won't charge you tax, but you will be required by law to collect tax on behalf of the state in almost all situations. You don't need an Amazon business account to do that.

I am a sole proprietor and own a small business, a jewelry store. One-man operation. For example, I get emails from Amazon about a business account and being sales tax exempt. Also from Comcast Business for my internet bill about being sales tax exempt.

Or is all of this just for non profit companies? I’m not a non profit.
