Anyone have an example of a good seller's Terms & Conditions template they can show me? I believe my listings are attracting too many "problem buyers"/scamming buyers.
I don't put terms and conditions anywhere. The most important thing you can do is take ample clear pictures and accurately describe your item. I just say "this is the item. This is the specs of the item. This is its condition. This is what is included. This is what is not included. Shipping is this much". It doesn't leave much room for problem buyers
The only problem buyers I've had were ones that actively were trying to scam me or twist ebay's terms against me by lying even though they just had buyers remorse.
edit: for the casual idiot buyer on ebay, if they think they know how to scam you because they have some crazy idea, chances are ebay will protect you from it if you've done what I just suggested (clear photos and accurate description). If you start trying to make your own terms right in the item description, they may conflict with some of ebay's actual terms and conditions, and someone just looking to scam you or make your life hell may try to exploit that to their advantage. safest bet is to just play it straight, dont ever say too much or too little. all the terms and conditions of buying and selling items are built into ebay already, so you dont really need to reiterate your own.
Examples: No need to say "payment require within X days" because ebay already lets you report non-paying buyers. No need to say "returns accepted under XYZ" because ebay already has a system in place for returns and when you can issue/accept returns.
EDIT2: the only thing I sometimes put is if I'm selling a bunch of similar items, I will say "contact me first for bulk pricing" and sometimes people will, then we'll negotiate a price for a bunch of stuff and i'll adjust/relist for just them.
More on reddit.comAmazon has updated the Conditions of Use. Any ideas what this might mean?
What conditions would you order from a "Just Launched" seller?
For a used book < $20, I wouldn't stress about it.
For an expensive item, I'd only buy from a "Just Launched" if it had Prime fulfillment/shipping.
More on reddit.comYSK a lot of fraudulent sellers on Amazon will change old listings with many positive reviews to make their bad product appear legit
Happened to me about a month ago. I went to buy my son a toy car for his birthday and they had like 4.7 stars and I put it in my cart and started reading the reviews and they were all about this toy air plane that they loved and recommend and I was confused for a little until I realized that they used to sell toy air planes and started selling toy cars on the same listing to keep the reviews. I removed the toy from my cart and bought another one
Update: contacted amazon and they submitted a report and looking into it. I also wanted to add that the item I was looking into buying has a price range of 40-150 with the lowest price range items having bad reviews, I’m thinking the seller realized that and decided to change the listing of a cheaper item in order to trick people into thinking it’s a good item.
