I would buy a base secondhand locally and then spend the majority of the money on a new mattress. Also if you buy a wooden base you can store things in boxes underneath, you don’t necessarily need a divan unless you prefer the look. More on reddit.com

We bought my daughter a mainstays steel bedframe from Walmart. I believe it is 14 inches off the ground. It is rated for 600 lbs and we’ve slept in it before and it’s comfortable. More on reddit.com

Heyyy, I’m planning to order a bed off amazon, but I’m getting mixed signals based off the views. I’m unsure if I should order because returning a defective furniture would be such a pain. If y’all would like to share any experiences or tips you have for ordering a bed online, I would appreciate it greatly!!
Also, if you have any other cheap, but decent quality websites you recommend, please share!
A few key characteristics that I’m looking for in the bed/bed frame:
twin bed with storage drawers underneath (due to small bedroom space)
no box-spring required
price: preferably under $300 USD
simple headboard (preferred)

I've seen a lot of these beds on my local Facebook marketplace. I'd recommend looking for one second hand first. Plenty of people get rid of perfectly good twin bed frames when their kids decide they want something bigger. Could be a great way to save some money.

Ey! I have a lot of things I need to store and not a lot of room. A nice bedframe would bring my bed up off the floor, give me some storage room, and make doing some things in my tiny living space a lot more efficient. It'd be nice for it to look at least a little cool, but if it looks like ass it looks like ass. I have a massive throw as my main blanket so I can just drape it over anything that's too much of an eye-sore.
I weigh.. 260... 270? I've seen some cheaper ones that based on reviews would hold a kid, but wouldn't quite hold a me. Ya know? The only reliable ones I've seen seem to fall into the $500+ range. Which feels crazy for something I likely won't even keep/need for forever. Please help!

The ikea HEMNES daybed is 400 rated to 300 lbs, has storage and can expand to a king if needed. I’ve slept on it and it’s pretty sturdy. Also it’s pretty easy to get new door fronts etc for ikea stuff and you can customize with new knobs etc.
